Merged from Green Slime

[edit]

I discovered that both Green Slime and The Green Slime were about the 1968 movie. This page seemed more complete, so I brought in the information from Green Slime not on this page and redirected that one here. See that page for edit history. Hope that's okay. --Lkseitz 16:53, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Production country and production companies

[edit]

So, does anyone have the clear info on where and how the film was made? Most sources call it a Japanese-American production, while I've seen Italy been lumped in and several different sources stating production companies.

  • Monthly Film Bulletin states "Southern Cross Films (New York)/Toei (Tokyo)" and calls the film both Japanese and United States production
  • American Film Institute states "Ram Films, Southern Cross Films, Toei Co." and refers to the film only as an United States production
  • Stuart Galbraith IV states in his book "A Ram Films, Inc. and Southern Cross Films Production in association with Toei Co. Ltd. and Lum Film" then calls it a United States, Japan and Italy co-production. Normally I wouldn't give one person info over other published sources, but Galbraith has published books strictly on the entire filmography of Toho and other Japanese filmographies since way before IMDb. He still refers to the film as these productions on his Battles Without Honour and Humanity blu-ray audio commentary released in 2015. So his information hasn't changed since 1994.

Any help? Andrzejbanas (talk) 01:27, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I personally would think this is an Japanese production, which was later dubbed in English. And some super genius decided that this film was also a American production because of the dubbing. 31.209.149.217 (talk) 15:41, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe, but we need evidence specifically figuring this out. All sources mention Southern Cross Films, which is identified as American. Andrzejbanas (talk) 14:01, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
