Notable?[edit]

Is the name Thelisto even notable when it has only been discussed by one author? I have my doubts this article should even exist when all the limited material is mentioned at Sednoid option #2. -- Kheider (talk) 14:07, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is the new Tyche, so it does deserve an article. DN-boards1 (talk) 20:28, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
On what authority does Lorenzo get to name it? Sheppard and team have just as much of a right to name it. The name is a very dubious claim IMHO.-- Kheider (talk) 20:44, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Telesto is Saturn's moon. There is no direct source for the hypothetical planet ever being referred as Telesto/Thelisto/Telisto/Thelesto by anybody. This claim looks like fraud to me J mareeswaran (talk) 09:17, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The name Telisto (Thelisto is a typo appearing in the first of the Iorio's paper mentioning it) has a completely different origin and meaning with respect to Telesto. Indeed, Telisto comes from the adjective τήλιστος (télistos) meaning "farthest, remote". Instead, Telesto comes from the name of the deity Τελεστώ (Telestò). Moreover, it seems to me that there is nothing strange in either the proposal of Iorio itself (indeed, such a name captures a key and undeniable physical feature of that object, if it exists) and in the fact that he proposed a name, gaving he authored several papers on the argument. This does not necessarily imply that it will be finally accepted by the community; but this is just another cup of tea..--21a12 (talk) 22:05, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thelisto. The question is how notable is this name if Planet Nine is real? -- Kheider (talk) 16:23, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

wrong name[edit]

This is a name of Saturn's moonTelesto. And the content is duplicated in several other articles such as Planet-X or planet nine. No astronomer will be stupid enough to give the name of an existing moon to a hypothetical planet. I want to delete this article as it is misleading to everybody. J mareeswaran (talk) 08:30, 23 January 2016

content duplicated in Planet X[edit]

The content of this article is already present in Planet X and hence this article can be deleted. J mareeswaran (talk) 19:42, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I do not see where this name is mentioned in Planets beyond Neptune, thus if it is re-directed it should go to Planet Nine where it is mentioned. -- Kheider (talk) 19:46, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The content is duplicated not the name J mareeswaran (talk) 20:10, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
if there is a case for adding this name in planet x somebody would have done it by now. If you think this(Thelisto?) is a valid name for planet X you can add this name there. I don't because outside of Wikipedia & Lorenzo Iorio I have not seen any public reference for this name J mareeswaran (talk) 20:15, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Planet Nine is the best place for mention of Telisto. -- Kheider (talk) 02:14, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I'll merge this into Planet Nine by creating a history sub-header under names heading J mareeswaran (talk) 05:48, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
