District name
[edit]The name of the district was changed at the end of the 1989 school year. I have no reference, but I was there. I was a member of the Tecumseh class of 1990, the first class to graduate after the name change.--WaxonWaxov (talk) 03:19, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
I am working on an extensive article for this subject.--WaxonWaxov (talk) 10:52, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced
[edit]I had to add Unreferenced on this one. I grew up in that area and spent 13 years in that school district. There are a lot of things in this article that I know are true because I was there. But unfortunately, my memory is not an acceptable reference here on Wikipedia. I know a guy who still lives in that area and has a tremendous archive on this subject. Unfortunately, he is not computer savvy. Eric Cable | Talk 13:16, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- Paragraph Five of the History section it says "according to Beers 1881 History"... what's that? A book that could be cited for this article?17:31, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- Think I found it here: [1] Eric Cable | Talk 17:34, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- Try here. The book is public domain, but the owner of the site hosting that transcription of it has recently put up a paywall, which is borderline unethical, IMHO, but what can you do.

I have a bad feeling that a lot of this article was copy/pasted from another source. Eric Cable | Talk 17:31, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- Indeed. Iloveapplemacintosh, where did you get all that historical info you added? If you cobbled it together from different sources, you need to cite those sources. If you copy-pasted the whole thing, fess up. —mjb (talk) 20:35, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
Corporal Punishment was banned in the district in 1980? Really? Let's see fall of 1980 I was in third grade. Yep, I remember receiving corporal punishment after that. Eric Cable | Talk 13:04, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
OT Hawke
[edit]The article said that the OScar T. Hawke elementary building closed as an elementary school in 2005 and became part of the high school in 1981. That obviosuly doesn't make sense, and not true. Yes, the building (which was only about fifty feet from the Tecumseh High School building) became part of the re-org of the district in 1981 which moved ninth graders from the junior highs to the high school. Ninth grade lockers and homerooms were in the OT Hawke building. When the elementary school closed, I am not certain but I think it was during the 1981 re-organization as that is when two other elementary schools closed. Again, my cite for all this is "I was there." Eric Cable | Talk 13:59, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
