Birth Place

[edit]

Tank Johnson was born in Gary, Indiana where he spent his first six years; he then moved to Arizona with his parents. His grandparents and several relatives still reside in Gary. This article should be modified to reflect this.

ESPN says he was born in Chandler. Arizona. --ShadowJester07 05:32, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ABC7 Chicago, and (other Chicago news outlets note this) interviewed his grandparents and relatives in Gary, Indiana on December 20, 2006.The player profile is incorrect, which is not unusual. See, http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=sports&id=4865746&ft=lg

Ah, good eye. Thanks for the correction --ShadowJester07 22:48, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Superbowl or No

[edit]

Conflicting news reports on his ability to travel to the superbowl. There is this CNN article that says the situation has not yet been decided. Then there is this Chicago Tribune article which says he can go. I think we need more concise evidence before his status can be stated on this article. Also - I am tagging this article with a current event tag for now. --Mattarata 00:03, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Situation is resolved, but I will leave the current event tag for now. --Mattarata 21:46, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This information was removed, but it happened.

[edit]

This information was removed from the Tank Johnson wiki. "On December 30, 2006, Tank Johnson contacted Gurnee Police Department to file harassment charges. [1] This news story is at best a footnote in many articles but deserves much more recognition. Local youths left a toilet seat with a harassing message on his doorstep. Local news said that "Police did not disclose what the message on the garbage can said" [2] However, other sources claim that "Nice Job Tank" was written on the seat. [3] In reality the words "GO TANK" was written lovingly with duct tape. This toilet seat was duct taped to a garbage can. This "hobo urinal", as it was called, was then urinated into. The news has yet to confirm these facts. " This actually happened and the sources do support all but the last two sentences. The information might have been deleted because the information was not the main focus of the article. If the entire article is read the information will be found. Thank you, Bfreak247 00:14, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, sorry, I was looking at the wrong refs. I removed the last sentence since it sounds speculative. --  ShadowJester07  ►Talk  01:39, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, Thanks

My edit reverted

[edit]

I took out the part that said he hoped to still play in the NFL, because, he has been in the NFL since. That was two years ago, and the information was outdated.

Next time, please don't remove cited content without an edit summary. Cheers. Trance addict - Armin van Buuren - Oceanlab 19:37, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mug Shot

[edit]

I previously removed the mug shot of Johnson. The image does not contribute much to this article except for showing what he looked like during the arrest. To my recollection, the image was taken after Johnson's 2006 fire-arms arrest. The fair use explanation was added when the image was changed to show Johnson exiting NW Memorial hospital after his friend was killed. It was later changed back to the mug shot. This is a non-free image, though I am not sure to what further examine/deal with mug shot copyrights. --StarScream107 (talk) 02:18, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say a mug shot contributes quite a bit to an article.►Chris NelsonHolla! 02:45, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
