Brauer vs. Breuer[edit]

@Lugnuts: I don't think we should rely on the single new source at http://www.olympedia.org/athletes/2303307 and assume the last name was Breuer instead of Brauer. "Tage Breuer" site:.se returns zero hits, and "Tage Breuer" returns nothing that confirms olympedia.org's spelling. On the other hand, we have multiple sources listing him as Thage Brauer, and we have circumstantial "evidence" from the AFD discussion that Thage was a misspelling and the correct spelling was Tage. Hi Sam - I was going off updated info that was flagged to me (by email) from User:Topcardi -

"I mentioned this discussion to my Olympedia colleagues yesterday. We contacted the official historian of the Swedish Olympic Committee and came up with a definitive answer, Full name: Tage Brauer. Born: 20 April 1894 in Nöbbele, Växjö. Dead: 29 March 1988 in Växjö. Club: Växjö Läroverk. According to an interview in the Swedish newspaper ”Kronobergaren” from 10 May 1973, he was entered in the long jump but withdrew due to pressure from his father who wanted him to focus on his schoolwork, He'll be reinstated as a non-starter in Olympedia sometime today or tomorrow."

I have no issue if you want to move the page back. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:14, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent. Perhaps they just made a typo at Olympedia when they typed it in? I'll move our article. Sam Sailor 13:20, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Lugnuts: Did you mention the typo for Topcardi? Best, Sam Sailor 19:06, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sam - no, sorry I didn't. Hopefully this ping will do the trick! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:09, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Topcardi: Any chance you people at Olympedia could fix the typo at http://www.olympedia.org/athletes/2303307 ? Thanks! Sam Sailor 12:32, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done! Topcardi (talk) 23:07, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Topcardi: Thanks! @Lugnuts: What do we do here, redirect to Athletics at the 1912 Summer Olympics – Men's high jump and correct the data there? Sam Sailor 10:55, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think that would be the best solution. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:55, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
