Merger proposal[edit]

The article TIM (Company) should be merged with article Telecom Italia, so that the history of the last page is not lost. Gabriel (talkcontribs) 17:41, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think that what you are saying is correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.5.32.173 (talk) 20:00 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Wikipedia can't merge the page histories of parallel article (cut and paste move can be merged) Matthew_hk tc 19:36, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Telecom Italia will not be called TIM[edit]

Like the user .mau reported me in my talk page, the Telecom Italia brand will be maintained at the corporate level, the change to TIM brand is to the consumer services that currently use the Telecom Italia brand. This change on Telecom Italia is very similar to the Telefónica brand change to Movistar/Vivo. For more information, read this press relase from Telecom Italia. Hi! As you may read here (this is the official press release of Telecom Italia about their strategic plan for 2015-2017, dated March 20), The acceleration in investments and ultrabroadband infrastructure will therefore be combined with a renewed commercial strategy based on service quality and simplification of the fixed, mobile and internet offer under the single TIM brand. (boldface is mine). So, as you can see, Telecom Italia will continue to exist, and the brand TIM, which was former used only for mobile offer, will be used also for fixed and internet offer.
BTW, it may be noteworthy to look at the contributions of User:Funnylolo55. He started writing on en.wiki last week, and he seems to have his petty peeves: besides Telecom Italia, he contributed to the article SIAE with a non-neutral point of view. --.mau. 20:40, 27 March 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by .mau. So nowadays there are still Telecom Italia Spa and its subsidiary Telecom Italia Mobile and both of them are commercially named Tim? which pages should exist of them on Wikipedia? Ketmoorn (talk) 10:29, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I did the merge between the contents of the page Tim (company), and Telecon Italia. I request deletion of Tim (company) page, because the company is named Telecom Italia and Tim is just the commercial brand. Ketmoorn (talk) 13:57, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the company did indeed change its name to TIM San Mario, according the company website Our company section. Klbrain (talk) 19:22, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Given the above, can I suggest that for the outstanding merge proposal for Telecom Italia San Marino that that should now be mere to Telecom Italia; an alternative would be a page move to TIM San Marino. Klbrain (talk) 19:28, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
