While I think Yoruba language is the best place to expand on the linguistic features of Yoruba, this article could detail some things that are peculiar to Standard Yoruba as opposed to the regional varieties. Especially Fagborun (1994) is a great source on the linguistic features of Standard Yoruba; Hair's (1967) survey goes into more historical detail but he is overly enthusiastic about the literary quality of the first translations (going so far as likening Crowther's work to what Luther did for German). — mark 13:05, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
