List of works

I reverted a recent edit to include a breakdown of the video groupings he has posted. His Wikipedia article isn't meant to be a catalog WP:NOTDIRECTORY of all his videos and the groupings aren't individually notable. That he does a series on a particular Minecraft gimmick isn't notable. The exception to this would be Wonder Quest but that is already covered by his biography. Joseph Garrett is an English YouTube commentator who posts videos about the game Minecraft as the character Stampy Cat. In 2014, Garrett's was one of the ten most watched YouTube channels in the world.

Network?

Hi is Stampy's main channel with Maker Studios is his Main Channel not part of a network/ with a different network thanks? Pepper Gaming (talk) 18:44, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Stampy was born in Emsworth, not Portsmouth.

In this podcast, made in December 2012, he says he lives in Emsworth. At around 4 minutes and 50 seconds in. Source: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/stampylongnose --CrispoTeabaggo (talk) 14:39, 25 May 2019 (UTC)CrispoTeabaggoCrispoTeabaggo (talk) 14:39, 25 May 2019 (UTC)--

Joseph GarrettStampy Cat – Per WP:COMMONNAME. Minecrafter0271 (talk) 00:28, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

  • Oppose - the character name he uses is not ubiquitous. -- Netoholic @ 07:31, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
@Netoholic: If you look at the other discussions above, you will see that he is referred to as "Stampy," not "Joseph" or "Mr. Garrett" or anything like that, which proves that people know him as Stampy Cat. Or, maybe we can move it to Stampylonghead. Minecrafter0271 (talk) 18:11, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
In the above response, you gave 3 aliases ("Stampy", "Stampy Cat", and "Stampylonghead") and potential article titles. I think this clearly points to the lack of WP:COMMONNAME. In journalistic sources, they also tend to use various aliases - but also almost universally state his full (real) name alongside those aliases. This is what we should title the article as it truly is the most common name. -- Netoholic @ 21:20, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

Joseph GarrettStampy – Garrett is most commonly known as Stampy by his followers and has been referred to as such in some RS:BBC, Irish Times, Forbes Furthermore, I'm going to cite the increasing precedent of calling YouTubers by their handles (e.g. MrBeast, PewdiePie, DanTDM, Technoblade, Mikecrack). Now, I think this is one example where I believe it would be appropriate to continue you referring to him as Garrett in the prose of the article, but Stampy is his WP:COMMONNAME for the title of the article. Iamreallygoodatcheckers talk 02:57, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

  • Support Per nom. His stage name/handle is the most well-known by far. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 08:33, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
Support. Most people know him as Stampy. Blubewwy (talk) 17:57, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
  • Support per nom's rationale. His online alias as "stampylonghead" or simply "Stampy" is widely more reported and known. There was a similar debate at Jordan Maron, where the article title uses his full name because he wasn't thoroughly reported or fully known as being "CaptainSparklez". But in this case, the subject is strongly associated with his alias. Sparkltalk 21:46, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

Change Bethany Bates to Kye Bates, Bethany is their deadname. They recently came out as non-binary.

Go to 1:22:38 in their “LIVE - CATRA COSPLAY + Q&A ~ Sqaishey Stream” on their YouTube channel Sqaishey Quack. They confirm that they changed their name to Kye, spelled K-Y-E.

This is as reliable as a source can get, it literally came from straight out of their mouth. What kind of source do you need to make the change? PineappleRain (talk) 15:23, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

In the Tiktok below, go straight to the comments, someone asks for their name. And they say that they changed it to Kye.

The video itself doesn’t refer to the name change, if you go to the comments section of the video, someone asked what their name was and they said that they changed it to Kye. PineappleRain (talk) 03:04, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

Stampy's middle name and birthday aren't supported by sources. — VORTEX3427 (Talk!) 16:13, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

"Garret had been mostly forgotten from the Youtube community as his genre of videos, "Let's Plays", were becoming unpopular and dated. "

This isn't true? AFAIK Let's plays are still very popular, and show no signs of becoming unpopular any time soon.
