I can't find any criteria for deciding when a gov't program is non-notable; "spare the air" gets over 100K hits on google; however it seems that some of the hits refer to programs in other parts of the US. Perhaps the article should be generalized to include all such programs. I created it because I couldn't find a mention of "spare the air" on wikipedia when I wanted to know what it was, and thus it seemed that an article on the subject might be useful to other people. cost.

[edit]

What does it cost? Does the Bay Area Air Quality Management District foot the bill? Who are they? - Zepheus (ツィフィアス) 23:33, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry that I can't tell you how much it costs, but I do know that the BAAQMD does not pay for it (at least not all of it)... I believe the program is very dependent on grants from other government organizations. The BAAQMD manages the money given to the program, though. Défenseur
Good to know. I'm interested in it so I'll see if I can find out more. - Zepheus (ツィフィアス) 00:16, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what bearing this has on Spare the Air specifically, but according to the BAAQMD annual report, 43% of revenue comes from permits, 28% from taxes, 13% from a transportation fund, 9% from federal grants, 4% from state grants, and 3% from "transfers." 63% of that goes to salaries, 21% to professional services, 9% to supplies, and 3% to capital projects. Cool. I don't see that on the BAAQMD page. Shall we throw it on there? - Zepheus (ツィフィアス) 19:18, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, sounds great. I wasn't sure how to throw it in there, though. Défenseur

Is there a reason this article can’t be titled simply Spare the Air?

No reason that I know of. - Zepheus (ツィフィアス) 23:47, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
