Images

[edit]

The two Escape from NY pictures were moved a little while ago because of a lack of sourcing and fair use licensing information. I added a new photo, a publicity photo from Escape from LA, so that should be fine. However, I'd appreciate it if someone could upload their own fair use DVD screenshots or images of Snake from EfNY, as that's probably the more iconic look, particularly with the sleeveless vest and younger Kurt Russell. --SevereTireDamage 07:07, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Character Traits

[edit]

The character traits section is pure original research and not needed here. It's obvious from the article he's an extremly moral man who can kick butt. Lots42 (talk) 16:10, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it adds a lot to the article in that it gives a clear understanding of what the character is like. I wouldn't say that it is obvious he's a moral man (in fact I'd say the opposite), though it can probably be assumed that he kicks butt. I think the character traits section does very accurately describe who Snake is; you're not likely to find any series fans that disagree with what's in there. [edit]

The image Image:Snakeprison.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Meets Fair Use of Image:Snakeprison.jpg ?

[edit]

It appears that someone added 'fair use' supporting information to this image page back in 2006, but I do not know how to properly add the rationale for it to the article. Specifically, the FairuseBot post above says, "for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page."

I also removed comments on this discussion page dating from 2007 and 2007 that were (a) "posts" that were not about the article (non-wiki related), (b) info about a deleted category (anti-hero), and (c) things that have already been corrected in the article: typos and adding a section. If it is inappropriate to remove these things from this discussion page, please undo. Tkech (talk) 05:42, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Real name

[edit]

It should be noted that his real name is Bob. This is said about 8 minutes into Escape From LA by the guy with the clipboard, turn on subtitles if needed.Coreythenerd (talk) 13:42, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like

[edit]

Saying 'Character A looks like Snake' is not enough. Cites are needed. Lots42 (talk) 22:45, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's Black Flight.

[edit]

Hauk very clearly says Black Flight in EFNY. Subtitles back this up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.245.46.30 (talk) 00:19, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Escape from Earth

[edit]

Although it is well-known that Ghosts of Mars was originally written as an Escape film, did plans for Escape from Earth ever actually exist? I've never seen anything regarding it being true aside from this article, which doesn't provide adequate resources. 2001:5B0:2438:CD68:F50C:55AD:C8FF:9E33 (talk) 23:16, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Captain Ron

[edit]

In John Carpenter's Chronicles of Snake Plissken, the fisherman Captain Ron is a reference to the 1992 film Captain Ron.

Kurt Russel plays the title character. He also wears an eyepatch for the majority of the film. 50.213.146.217 (talk) 03:08, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
