There's already a head stand page, that lists the Sanskrit as Sirsasana. However, in doing research for that page I found this other spelling. I'm certainly not an expert on Sanskrit; now what? Jacqui 16:35, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some info about breakdance to the head stand page and therefore suggest that the head stand page remain separate as it's not just a yoga related posture. However I can see there's duplication of info on the three different pages. Wakamelover 18:16, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that all the information about the yoga posture be merged into Sirshasana, and let the info about breakdance remain in the head stand page with a note that 'head stand' can also mean sirshasana. I say this because all other yoga postures are named in their respective sanskrit names, and it's better not to have information about the same thing scattered across different articles. ~ srini 08:46, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A merge makes sense, but I think it would be best to find a consequent line and stick to it. Although there is a wide trend of taking S shounds in Sanskrit and spelling it sh, allowing for confusing variants shirsasana, sirshasana, shirshasana et al, I'd vote to redirect the variants to the simple sirsasana. Head stand is a frequently used word among non-hindi yoga practicioners, so if that is to become a break dance article, there ought to be some disambiguation..
