Tags

The tags need not be under specific sections, as they skew the page.

If they are at the top, they draw attention to the entire article in general, all of which could use cleanup and sources. Celebrity-Benji 18:33, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Rewrite

I gave it a good rewrite, but I think someone else should judge whether the tags can be removed yet.

Also, all the new infomration comes from the "Making Of" featurette and commentary tracks on the US DVD, and I'm not sure how to indicate the source for a non-web-based thing. Scix 04:46, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

You can't reference second hand information on Wiki. Best to look for other references or contact the fan club for specific information. I am sure it is correct but the two gentlemen doing the comentary are not the primary source. They would however be able to give the proper references. Perhaps they can be persuaded to to add the references themselves? Guys if you read this could you help out if you have time....Bert and Cosmo (not thier real names of course) could you give us a hand here please? --Amadscientist 06:28, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

I apologize for the quality of the poster I uploaded. It is taken from a fan site. If anyone owns or has access to a copy of the poster, they can upload their own scan. (Ibaranoff24 00:34, 9 December 2006 (UTC))

Fair use rationale for Image:Shock Treatment DVD.jpg

Image:Shock Treatment DVD.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:44, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Film Release verses video and DVD release

I hesitate to make changes untill a discussion has come to a consensus. So let's start a discussion about the articles need to stop refering to the video releases. That is not what the article is about. A section should be devoted to it, but thie article is about the film itself. I have a great deal to contribute, but wait till people making recent changes have an oppurtunity to add their toughts. --Amadscientist 09:47, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Cast "Laundry List" to be removed

We need to incorporate the cast into the plot or infor box and remove the list per Wiki guidelines.--Amadscientist 22:09, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

I wish I'd read this before. Where is that in the guidelines? Please see my note in history as to why I left it when deboldifying the article. Thanks. --EarthPerson 18:25, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Yes Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Style guidelines as well as WP:NOT clearly state that "Lists" should not be used. A well written prose is how it should be done. Please see the article The Rocky Horror Picture Show as well as it's talk page to see how the article has undergone huge changes to bring it into line with wiki policy and project guidlines. Good idea using the Star Wars article as a reference.....thats what I did. LOL! There is one difference on this page however. I have added Actor as The Character in the "At a Glance" Info box. I believe it adds important information that is essential for that box. I think that would be appropriate here as well.--Amadscientist 11:02, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
One other thing. I have joined project laundromat an attempt to clean up "list" from wikipedia articles and it is something many contributers are not aware of. As you can see the song "list" has been changed to tables per wiki policy in both articles.--Amadscientist 11:04, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Discuss before changing

We need consensus before we expect any chnages to stick. Be a civil editor and discuss what is being done on this article before making changes that effect the work of others to clean up this article. Please look at Wikipedia guidlines and Project film Style Guidelines.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Amadscientist (talkcontribs) 11:29, 3 July 2007

If a change is made without edit summery or discussion on the talk page I will take that as uncivil. I will not revert if I can simply edit. Please avoid edit warring by discussing and forming consensus please.--Amadscientist 07:56, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Are we just doing whatever we want?

The point of cleaning up any article is to make it fit into wikipedia guidelines. PLEASE look into the policy and the guidlines before just randomly reverting or editing out work being done here. There is a real attempt to get this article ready for assesment to elevate it to the next level of article rating. Many things still need to be done. Citations NEED to be added. The Plot section needs more information as does the Production section. There is no real mention of the fan influence much more. lets work on moving the article forward and not revert back to the same problems.--Amadscientist 11:29, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Is the release date correct?

I seem to remember seeing the general release as December of 1981.--Amadscientist 11:43, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

One Sheet Poster

Idealy we need the poster image to match other film articles. A one sheet poster was released for the film we should use that.--Amadscientist 11:48, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

What does this sentence mean?

However, Shock Treatment eventually got showings at Rocky Horror conventions, and has ended up having occasional performance casts every now and then. A performance cast?? --Filll (talk | wpc) 19:32, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I think they may mean a 'shadow cast' - a phrase I have seen elsewhere, which means a live performance of the action which runs concurrently with the film, usually acted by fans. 80.69.8.190 (talk) 13:36, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Someone will need to fix things so that a search for "shock treament" doesn't go directly to the "shock therapy" entry. Pacian 13:38, 11 Sep 2004 (UTC)
When you enter shock treatment, you get redirected to shock therapy. So I included a notation at the top of that article with a link to this article. Hope it helps. Ellsworth 20:29, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Haven't seen the movie, only heard the soundtrack, so I'm not updating the article myself. But the good people of Denton, Texas would probably be amused to learn that their city (north of Dallas, pop. 119,000) is "fictional". Fictionalized for the movie, maybe. Is there anything in the movie that specifies this is Denton, Texas? I recall the song refers to "Denton, U.S.A.", and there's nothing in RHPS that places that Denton in Texas. Kevin Shaum (talk) 01:44, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

(Not sure if there is a method of replying properly) In TRHPS, the Crimeologist is seen examining a map which indicates where Denton, Dr. Frank and Dr. Scott are... That may indicate something, but I wouldn't take it too seriously. Regardless, we have to work under assumption unless an official comment has or will be made (somehow really doubt it's going to happen). As we have to work under assumption, I would say it's safe to assume that in writing the story, the real Denton was chosen as a location rather than a fictional one, as this would be a less immediate decision.

In defense of this, it is common in the B-film genre (which THRPS is a satire of) to choose a real location and use it for absurd events. One could still say that this Denton is fictional, but I honestly doubt it's worth bothering. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.45.5.152 (talk) 09:39, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
