History

[edit]

SHAZAM has a long history and has been popular over the years. Some description of the history of SHAZAM (such as a version table) as given on the SAS page would be helpful.

Techniques

[edit]

This article does not outline the statistical and econometric techniques SHAZAM supports. In particular listing all the linear and nonlinear regression, time series and other analytical capabilities would be useful.

[edit]

This page is missing a disambiguation link to Shazam (other meanings). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bogdanbiv (talkcontribs) 05:24, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • SHAZAM (software)Shazam (software): Does not appear to be an initialism. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 20:09, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
It sort of is. The software is named after the magic word SHAZAM used by Billy Batson to transform into the Captain Marvel in the DC Comics (not to be confused with Captain Marvel in the Marvel comics), which is an initialism for Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, Mercury. --Ahecht (TALK

I'll note that without the DIFFCAPS, Shazam (software) is definitely ambiguous with Shazam (application). 162 etc. (talk) 02:34, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

It seems clear to me that the capitalization is incorrect given that the first source is titled A General Computer for Econometric Models--Shazam, so disambiguate both subjects fully. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:29, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
