Hello, I sorted citations which were repeating and explicited the theoretical framework the article was implicitly referring to. I also tried to make sense of the flow of the article which is somehow missing. Still a lot of work to do. Mynameisblackcat (talk) 22:32, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

FYI: I'll be working with some students from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing from mid-March 2017 until sometime in May on updating and improving the quality of this page in accordance with WP:Medicine standards. It is likely to see a sudden uptick in edits and expansion, so please expect some boldness and be merciful. Thanks Richardjames444 (talk) 20:24, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pneumonia

[edit]

"Vaccinations helps protect individuals from serious illnesses and complications related to vaccine-preventable diseases like pneumonia."

I am not a doctor, but to the best of my understanding, there are several issues with this sentence:

  1. The source does not even mention pneumonia.
  2. This sentence makes it sound like pneumonia generally is a vaccine-preventable disease. That is not true, as far as I am aware. The article Pneumococcal vaccine states that vaccination can prevent "some cases of pneumonia" which certainly sounds a lot less enthusiastic.

Shouldn't we maybe find a better example for this broad and general statement? --87.150.0.105 (talk) 23:51, 10 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder

RE:major edit

[edit]

The article is tagged with “this article's tone or style may not reflect the encyclopedic tone used on Wikipedia” the major edit has added more incorrect tone, for example we shouldn’t say “as described further below” or use the word “oneself”. Not sure if Mashable is a suitable source, there are so many different changes it is not easily possible to see any improvement, smaller incremental changes would be more advantageous. There is need to add a section on self-care of therapists as it an important area of self-care that has received significant research attention recently. Currently the page on self-care does not provide a comprehensive picture of self-care. Please let me know the opinion of others so that new content can be added. Hello. We are three university student taking a writting course class. We are planning on making some edits regarding the self-care article. This self-care wikipedia article does not have an updated version of what self-care is now. We want to expand on factors influencing self care. It is more described as a way to recollect oneself. We will also emphasize that self-care is different for each individual it can be a action that one takes in order to care for  Make it more focused on mental than physical well being. There are no examples of self-care. These examples can give ideas to the reader to understand more holistically. It is missing a section on covid 19 and the connection of self-care Add a sector of the connection of covid and self care. Add citations to areas that say ‘citation needed’. Connecting articles to other topics in the "see also" section.
