सैंथवार क्षत्रिय गोरखपुर

[edit]

— Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.252.218.24 (talkcontribs)

This page is under attack by some unsocial people who are trying to demean a historic community. The references provided in the current article are baseless and biased without any authority. This article needs to be improved and protected.

It should not be written like an advertising nor de-mean a community. It should be rather presented with historical facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DeepakChaudhary511 (talkcontribs)

Word kurmi

[edit]

Word kurmi in this content is objectionable. Kurmi is a very different cast in India. And saintwar Mall is one of the kshatriya community (The warriors) in India. Remove this word or sentences in which this is used. Raunak070692 (talk) 19:21, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:122.163.173.95 and User:Nikhilkantsingh, welcome to Wikipedia! Here's a wikipedia welcome cookie template: Template:Welcome_cookie. It appears the article is rewritten.

I don't know anything about this topic, I just found it through Recent changes

Sources help people know or check information is correct. Here's an example I found: https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Caste_System_of_Northern_India/NenzO2grTOMC?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=Sainthwar&printsec=frontcover, although that one doesn't help much right now.

I was going to say (hmm... not much sources) but in between more source were added while I was typing this

As a foreigner, I don't know what (santhavara) in Sainthwar (santhavara) means, and Google doesn't help...

Is it a translation or alternative name or something? I also don't know what the Backwards Commision is.

I've edited it to correct some stuff. I'm also part of Wikipedia:Short description. So yeah, what should I put for a short description? For now it's "community in northern India"  AltoStev Talk 13:28, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, it appears the change was in another pending revision, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sainthwar&oldid=983480301  AltoStev Talk 13:32, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The page is being vandalised and has been hijacked by people trying to misrepresent and manipulate historical and judicial facts. Sainthwar are not Kurmi. Nikhilkantsingh (talk) 02:59, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Saithwar is related to kshtriya.Saithwar community members were part of the main body of kshtriya known as Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya mahasabha and they founded their own Akhil Bhartiya Saithwar Mall Kshtriya mahasabha in Lucknow and Saithwar Mall rajput trust in gorakhpur. @Abhisheksingh7594: do you know of any more reliable sources that describe Sainthwar as part of Kshatriya? You also removed their relation to Kurmis, do you have sources that deny or dispute that connection. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 14:21, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Abhisheksingh7594: you've been reverting to your proposed version repeatedly. Could you help us understand the reason behind your changes and lay out which sources support them? Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 03:01, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Abhisheksingh7594: since my last comment in May, you've continued to edit war without participating here or addressing the sourcing issues raised by me or Utcursch. Can you please self-revert and discuss? Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 19:19, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Saithwar were listed as separate caste in the last caste census of 1931,THE MAIN BODY OF KSHATRIYA ACCEPTED SAITHWAR AS kshtriya in all it's yearly conventions. You can read books of historian Rajbali pandey as well as Vimla singh, Rahul sankrityayan, Dr Raghunath Chand as well. Saithwar is separate in obc list of Bihar as well. Abhisheksingh7594 (talk) 19:26, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate that you're pointing us toward usable sources. Could you please be more specific? If we're going to change the article, the new content needs to be based on specific reliable sources. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 03:55, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kurmi

[edit]

Sainthwar were never kurmi nor they had any social tie with any of this tiller caste umbrella. Sinthwars have royal ancestors and they were king and ruling class. The references given in are all fake and the writers just copy pasted the british historian articles to get their book publish or even for their PhD thesis also, that's what happens in indian universities. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2409:4081:8984:6879:1DF1:5146:B825:F97B (talk) 16:56, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi IP2409. Do you know of any reliable sources that talk about the Saintwar's royal ancestry? How do you know the currently cited sources are fake? Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 18:35, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
you wanna know about sainthwar royal ancestry? Ju check about padrauna state and madhuban state which was ruled by sainthwar and mall kings. And don't forget about Mall mahajanpad which was there since ancient India, if you don't believe then go study Indian histry. And stop spreading your political vote bank agenda here. Sainthwar-mall never accept you Kurmis as their parts. 202.43.120.75 (talk) 02:21, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As a result, the share of the caste in the total population declined over the censuses. In Gorakhpur district, the landowners and large cultivators broke away from the parent during the second and third decades of the 20th century. They formed a new caste called Sainthwar, which was the name of a sub-caste of the Kurmis.

Not done: It is still unclear what you are requesting; it's hard to understand what you are trying to say. Furthermore, you need to provide your desired changes in a "change X to Y" format. Ergo, you must provide the exact prose to insert - along with reliable sources to support it. —Sirdog (talk) 04:14, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Change “Under the Indian governments system of positive discrimination, the Sainthwars are classified as a "Backward" or Other backward class.[4] The Sainthwars are closely related to the Kurmis,[2] and are sometimes described as a division of the Kurmi caste” to In 1991 ,Saithwar were given seperate class under Kshatriya group. The rectification was made on the basis of prominent land owners. Manisha Sharma MS (talk) 08:00, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
