I was not aware of the process to not update a page after the copyright notice was placed... so my error. I did attempt to fix the page after talking with user:the evil spartan. I agree that the initial content was just a paste from another site. However, I have enriched and rewritten it substantially. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe it it is perfectly permissible to have substantially similar content as long as it is not identical or largely identical.

I have also enriched the content, added new information and sources. That's all I have to offer at this time. I think the page is worth keeping and no longer at risk of violating the copyright standards, but then I'm new here, so I won't be the one to judge. --Pearrari 03:50, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It actually isn't as bad as I originally thought; I happened to keyword search just the right words. You will notice that the current text still has certain phrases: At the age of 16; coach Hamad gave him a place in the first team and Saad Attiya [was/is] the youngest member of Iraq’s successful Olympic team. Just a little more would probably be good; sorry for the hassle. The Evil Spartan 04:02, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
