Runswick Lifeboat Station

[edit]

Unless anyone has any objections, or can prove otherwise...

...,as far as I am aware, the RNLI station was known as Runswick, not Runswick Bay, and I wish to amend the name of the page to reflect this.

It is also the intention to make Runswick Bay Rescue Boat as separate page.

I have no objection - but the naming is per what the citations say. If the RNLI referred to it as just "Runswick", that's okay, but if the other nine cites state "Runswick Bay", then they win out as per WP:COMMONNAME. Also, if you are going to post here about a name change, what's the point of asking for other people to contribute, if later that day, you just remove the word "Bay" from the title anyway? You might as well just move the page per WP:BOLD and have done with it. The joy of all things (talk) 18:43, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mr. The joy of all things. Thanks for your input.
All RNLI references, and even the name on the boat, just say Runswick, see pics
It's Runswick on all the old maps. It appears only recently that the place seems to have morphed into being Runswick Bay, and it would seem, as a result of the existence of the Runswick Bay Hotel.
