Perhaps mention should be made of the "controversy" regarding the pronunciation of Glisan's name with regard to his namesake street which most people seem to render as GLEE-son.--172.191.152.205 (talk) 21:06, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Glisan was pronounced with short i as in glisten, not EA, or EE as in Gleason. The Glisan family name is still pronounced Glisan. People don’t know the correct pronunciation so go along with the crowd. Is that right or respectful? I will always say Glisan as my grandfather was a friend of the Glisan family, and my father, too, knew the correct pronunciation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:1C0:5203:C220:FD16:EA85:6D81:E229 (talk) 21:05, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
