[edit]Question: I work at a Red Roof Inn myself, and I was just wondering about one part of this article where it mentions that Accor wants to focus exclusively on it's Motel 6 brand, this information is not entirely accurate as the property that I work at (along with 7 or 8 others I believe) are now franchised to Accor while keeping their Red Roof Inn branding, what is the consensus about where the article should be updated with this information or leave it as I guess it could be considered first hand research? This article reads like advertising copy. That usually means it is plagiarized from the Internet... Adam Bishop (talk) 05:44, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Seconding Adam Bishop above, I doubt this is original and it is certainly not objective. Not suitable for an encyclopedia. Tjm402 (talk) 05:37, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

"In April 2007, Accor announced the sale of Red Roof Inns to Citigroup Global Special Situations Group and Westbridge Hospitality Fund LP for $1.3 billion.[4] As part of the sale, some locations will be re-branded as part of Accor's flagship North American brand, Motel 6, and Accor will focus exclusively on the North American market after the sale is complete."
This is no longer accurate. Accor divested itself of Motel 6 in 2014, and sold it to Blackstone Group — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.223.243.5 (talk) 14:30, 21 July 2015 (UTC)

Maybe "...which Accor will focus ON exclusively in it's North American market after.....

Red Roof Inn 45th anniversary
[edit]What do you think will happen during Red Roof Inn's 45th anniversary in 2017? Bikinibottom7953 (talk) 20:30, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
i think the walls will be painted red inside Red Roof Inn hotels (you can't have Red Roof Inn without red walls). Bikinibottom7953 (talk) 20:35, 10 July 2015 (UTC)
Franchisees?
[edit]Stay in RR Inn whenever I travel because of their pet policy. Currently staying in El Paso for extended period. Spoke with employee about conditions at the particular location. She indicated that her motel had been sold to a franchisee and was no longer corporate. As a result, she no longer has health benefits, among other employment condition changes. My point here, as far as Wiki Article edits are concerned, is that there may be a trend to selling individual locations to local entrepreneurs with resulting impact on work conditions. If that was the case, it would be worth including in the main article. Droffroad (talk) 00:50, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[1]
