Purpose of page[edit]

I don't see the point of this page. Do people actually search on "Reading program"? That seems like a search that would learn nowhere because of the lack of specificity. Why do we even need this page? – Chris53516 (Talk) 16:29, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you are looking for a reading computer program then both 'reading program' and 'reading software' are plausible search terms. Howver, I agree that rationalisation is needed. I have therefore merged the s/w into List of educational software and the Time program is now linked from Reading (activity). BlueValour 18:15, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Don't look at me, I didn't start it as a dab page - Reading Program was a redirect I put on RfD, after the debacle of someone renaming the Accelerated Reader article, it got changed to a dab page.... I moved the page for proper capitalization, tried to build it up a little bit more, but if you want to nominate it on AfD, feel free. I agree that the search terms seem way too vague to be helpful. --JohnDBuell 18:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with what BlueValour did. We can add the software titles to the main page of Educational software, if necessary. The "defunct" organization doesn't even belong here anyway, since "program" refers to "software." – Chris53516 (Talk) 18:42, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'll go with this - I probably would have left well enough alone had I correctly seen BlueValour's comments, which for some reason didn't get displayed, and in fact got clobbered. Hopefully that was just a little database hiccup - I should have seen an Edit Conflict message. Sorry about all that. --JohnDBuell 19:10, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
