partner/child
[edit]Include something about his partner/child?
- There seems to be an editor who periodically adds items on this topic. The changes are consistant with what is included on some Blogs, wikis, and message boards, but nothing to be considered as a verifiable source. These unverifiable changes are reverted. However if you can find a valid source to back up encyclopedic information, then I can see no reason not to include it!
I added a spot of info about his new child, but it was removed again. The name of his partner, Jenny Kelly, and baby, Kate, are public information and are repeatedly referred to on his radio show, and by other Today FM presenters, among others, as well as in the Irish print media. (However, thre is no other online reference that I can find to this at the moment.) If this is considreed libellous, then I can see the reason. However, as it stands, it's not libellous. Could someone explain the problem to me? Gsalter 12:43, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- Can you supply a reliable source, as requested above? A newspaper article or news report would be great, but blog entries or forum posts are not acceptable. Demiurge 12:46, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
The only sources that I can find are blogs, generally as part of random comment on the day's news. I can't get a newspaper link from news website archives- generally, gossip or trivia columns aren't sent to the web, as far as I can see. In any case, newspaper archives require login and may be copyrighted. Gsalter 12:57, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter if they're copyrighted or behind a login, since we're not copying the article, just using it to verify a fact. Demiurge 13:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
This is ridiculous, its common knowledge in Ireland and is mentioned on his radio show often.
- On investigation the IMDB is not a reliable source, and as this is used as the supporting evidence top the family claims, I have removed it The Fashion Icon 09:49, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Here is a link to a forum which mentions the same incident as reported by the Irish independent that the Irish Times link I placed on the article is talking about .Garda40 15:27, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
How about the idea that this is fact? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.234.103.132 (talk) 13:54, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Pirates of the Carribean
[edit]Deletion : "Starred recently in the top-rated pirate blockbuster 'Pirates of the Carribean - At Worlds End' as Clancy Finnegan." I removed this statement as Rat D'Arcy is does not appear in this movie.
Why will he not marry Jenny ? She seems a lovely lass and would a great breakfast the following morning. You would think Ray would go for a flash young thing but no he is committed to Jenny. Oh, that's right she had a baby outside of marriage. Oh, he didn't commit to marriage either. Jesus, Ray how do you get away with it, the Irish media would have a field day if they only knew. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.41.211.79 (talk) 11:54, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Irish Alan Partridge?
[edit]"He is affectionately known as the Irish Alan Partridge." I suggest the addition of a citation or the removal of the sentence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steve1138 (talk • contribs) 11:58, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Russel Brand
[edit]This material has been removed from the article and should not be re-added for the following reasons:
- There are no citations for this (see WP:BLP )
- There is no reason that this is intrinsically important to the article
- There is no neutrality of the point (indeed the only contributors of this POV are major contributors to Russel Brand articles, one of whom vandalised this article)
If the material is to be re-added it should be rewritten to encompass the above points. Cheers, Jonomacdrones (talk) 11:45, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
