I have visited Pudu Prison twice in 1986 to see my friend, Kevin Barlow, I cannot begin to describe and sheer horror of the place, the atmosphere on entering those gates, seeing women cry when they saw their menfolk behind bars trying to shout to them, it was a helpless situation. The prison staff I must admit were very kind to me and as a foreigner did everything they could to make my visits comfortable.
I wouldnt wish Pudu prison on any human being, and the memory and horror of the place will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Prison cells the size of a shoebox ?
[edit]This statement at the opening paragraph, which doesn't include a source, caught my eye:
"The cells were small and dark, each only the size of a shoebox."
How can a prison cell that needs to hold a human be the size of an actual shoebox (which varies in size but is somewhere around 35 x 25 x 13 cm)?
This seems like it is more a figure of speech, in which case it probably should be on Wikipedia.
Thoughts? G4wkpd (talk) 16:17, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, it was clearly a figure of speech. I have deleted the whole sentence as superfluous, since one would expect Victorian-era prison cells anywhere to be "small and dark". -- Alarics (talk) 20:23, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
