Citations removed[edit]

I removed a bunch of citations to a couple of Master's theses and a Doctoral dissertation. These are not considered reliable sources. Skyerise (talk) 23:12, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Use of images[edit]

While Wikipedia articles are often clarified by judicious use of images, we are required to remain strictly neutral in articles, and must not be seen to be supporting any particular point of view, such as that of a religion, sect, party, nation, or pressure group. The use of an image that gives the impression of being a current devotional work would certainly run counter to that. I've therefore removed an image from the article. Hope everyone is all right with that. Chiswick Chap (talk) 13:56, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality, use of Wikipedia's voice[edit]

Further, it looks as if much of the article is from the point-of-view of Sahaj Marg? If that is so, then the rules on neutrality are even more important. Articles must be completely neutral with respect to sects, teachings, cults, or religions, whatever their status. Thus "The Roman Catholic view is that the wafer is the body of Christ" is fine, but "The wafer is the body of Christ" – in Wikipedia's voice – is not. The article needs to be reworked for neutrality, not least by making it clear who believes what. Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:04, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Skyerise:: I've taken a look and it was like climbing the library, everything I touched came loose and fell to pieces in my hands. The choice for this article is a complete rewrite from neutral sources, a redirect to somewhere suitable, or deletion. Since there are very few reliable sources - I guess the Joyce PhD just about qualifies, but there's almost nothing else even nominally independent of Sahaj Marg - and the other sources in the article are basically all peripheral (describing prana, etc), I can't currently justify more than a brief mention, so I've redirected to Shaktipat#Pranahuti where at least it's vaguely defensible. If other researchers look into the matter then it might become possible to say more than a short paragraph, but right now there's nothing encyclopedic. Meanwhile, I guess we agree on this! Hi Chiswick.
Thank you for your comments.
I just went through the wiki sourcing guidelines and have to agree with most of your observations.
Requesting a small consideration from your side... Yogic Transmission appears to be distinctly different from Shaktipat. Shaktipat, I think is mostly associated with Tantra/Tantric Practices and Pranahuti appears to be associated with Raja Yoga Practice, which are considered opposite ideologies. Would you think it be possible to undo this redirection. It can be moved to draft and will do a thorough re-work on it keeping in mind wiki's current sourcing guidelines and the use of tone before publishing again. I should have done this before. I am fairly new to wikipedia. So this would be a good learning opportunity for me. Oria 6 (talk) 05:38, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
