As far as I can tell, this character has zero real world notability. Can any third party sources be provided which discuss this character in any depth or at all? If not this article should be redirect to Tek Jansen per WP:N. I doubt this article would survive an AfD, but I have no problem with a redirect. --Daniel 21:22, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Well there were actually two characters by this name, the first was an early sidekick to aquaman and only later was used by Stephen Colbert for his short Tek Jansen storyline. I would rather this be differentiated rather than merging or creating 2 different pages for what some might think as two different characters. As far as notability goes, there are certainly more cartoon characters with page far more obscure than this, at least this character has 30-40years of usage going for it. - WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is a weak argument (I actually doubt there are many pages about more obscure characters). The current article doesn't mention this older character. If this character has more notability, please provide sources that show this. --Daniel 19:30, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- As far as the original Porpy goes, I don't have any sources on me, as something on the internet would be hard to find. But I would put it as maybe a lower significance and considering the timespan, it is much more obscure. Is it worth including in the article given the lack of sourcing? I would say that the current Porpy is notable. And a combined article for the two characters that share the same name should be enough for a stand alone article upon expansion; the only issue I see is finding reliable internet links for sourcing. - Sources need to be provided for one or both of these iterations. If they are both notable, then we should have a disambiguation page. If one is notable than we should have an article on it with a top link pointing to a relevant article (like Tek Jansen) for the other.
