I am going to start annotating this article as soon as I finish expanding the article. The amount of material on the Chinese view appears limited but I will include what I have. For now it appears it can remain a single article covering both actions.--Buckboard 12:18, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

the casualty maybe wrong

[edit]

I think the casualties of both sides were wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.144.96.158 (talk) 04:40, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Casualties are wrong!

[edit]

"Company K (1st Lt. Joseph G. Clemons, Jr.) and Company L (1st Lt. Forrest J. Crittendon), 31st Infantry, in reserve behind the MLR, were ordered to counterattack and began their attack at 04:30 on April 17. By dawn they reached the main trenches on top of the hill but suffered almost 50% casualties" - this would mean that total casualties of UN were from these companies.... This has to be wrong —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.150.127.116 (talk) 17:43, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What is wrong is equating the 50% casualties of King and Love companies to the total casualties (476) of that April battle. King had 135 men to start with. Love probably wasn't very different and I think Love's supporting attack (of King's attack) was 2 platoons amounting to 62 men. Don't forget that Easy of the 31st was originally there and overrun suffering heavily. Able, Easy, Fox, and George of the 17th also fought on Pork Chop and most of them had a pretty rough time as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.253.187.17 (talk) 09:13, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
