[edit]Could really do with some kind of table in which to house the Major honours section. It's particularly untidy, and doesn't give a sense of the team's achievements over the years. Any thoughts? Monkeynuts2008 (talk) 21:02, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Re: the below, I have now removed the pane which included the old playing kit graphics, and freshened with an up-to-date information panel. Monkeynuts2008 16:14, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Desperately need the correct images of playing kit. The current images are incredibly outdated. --Monkeynuts2008 15:49, 17 November 2008 (UTC —Preceding unsigned comment added by Monkeynuts2008 (talk • contribs)
Is it wise to include players such as Rhys Shellard and Lee Thomas with flag icons under "Notable Former Players", considering that they have not actually been capped for the Wales National team? I understand they have caps at Age Grade levels and Sevens (and that being so, perhaps links should be included to Dai Flanagan, Tom Riley et al?). Perhaps rename "Notable Former Players" to "Notable Players"? --Monkeynuts2008 15:41, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- Teams like Ponty, Newport and Swansea could quite easily add hundreds of notable players. I tend to include players who have gained 10+ caps, captained the team, played in a highly notable game or have further links with the club such as becoming a future manager or president. Keeps the numbers at a valid level. I think it may be preferable to set up a category, for Pontypridd RFC players, like Newport and Swansea have. FruitMonkey (talk) 18:27, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. I'll create the necessary page. --Monkeynuts2008 19:04, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- Done. Many more to add though, but the skeleton is there now. --Monkeynuts2008 19:47 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. I'll create the necessary page. --Monkeynuts2008 19:04, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Not sure if we should have such information as contact phone numbers and directions on how to get to the stadium. This is falling into the realms of advertising your product. There are already links to the official site and I feel this is the appropriate place for this info.--FruitMonkey 07:41, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Pontypridd rugby badge.png
[edit]Image:Pontypridd rugby badge.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Article as of August 2009
[edit]The article is looking better after the good work recently, but needs certain areas addressed to head towards C/B class. There is still unreferenced opinion (like the Boobyer sentence) in the article and slang (city-slicker). The opening gambit, should state what the club is, their overall career arc since thier creation (Cups won / WRU membership / disbandings / etc), and any major incidents (Celtic Warriors, major stadium moves). It should not mention their sponsors or present club staff in the opening as these are transitory. Also the information is far too heavily weighted towards the present day, more info is needed on their 20th century history. IMO. FruitMonkey (talk) 17:19, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Ok, done (could you check?)... but I've managed to completely lose the information on the coaching staff!! --Monkeynuts2008 (talk) 21:15, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Kit template
[edit]Does anyone have any idea as to how to make the socks black and white hoops? Also, if someone can improve on the 2nd kit (the 1st kit is due to be renewed shortly, and I don't know what it'll look like yet) I'd appreciated it: Away kit launch --Monkeynuts2008 (talk) 09:29, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
- Although not perfect, the Juventus 2nd strip has black socks with white tops, that may be closer than the present image. FruitMonkey (talk) 14:34, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks FruitMonkey. Unfortunately, I'm not up-to-speed, or totally at ease with the numerous different options available within the Kit Template code. It's going to have to wait until someone more capable can fix it.--Monkeynuts2008 (talk) 17:24, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:CelticWarriors-Logo.jpg
[edit]The image File:CelticWarriors-Logo.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --05:29, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
Review request
[edit]A brief review shows the following areas that require additional attention before a B class article status can be awarded:
- Referencing & citations: There are several dead links caused mainly by the WRU moving their entire web naming convention, but these could be recovered fairly easily. References could do with using a cite line to add more information such as the date and publisher of the pieces. Some sections have no citations at all.
- Coverage & accuracy: Some good coverage of the later period, but the early history up to 1990 is fairly thin. A slight bulking of this area will push to B status
- Structure: The article is still too list based in areas, and some of the lists do not give inclusion criteria
- Grammar & style:Grammar is fine, but there are several uses of peacock terms or opinion without cites to back them up. 'Beat ever team', 'greatest ever players', 'considered an achievement', etc.
Hope this helps. FruitMonkey (talk) 19:54, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
