The PPH now has a "Suicide Alley" style asphalt median? When did that happen? The project may be significant enough to mention in the article (espeically if, like US 6, it was the response to numerous accidents). Last time I drove on the PPH (1997) it was still marked like any other 2-lane road. - EmiOfBrie 15:04, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
The stantions were installed in mid-April 2007. Prior to that in January 2007 MassHighway put a quad-yellow stripe down the middle of the highway; then just before the stantions were installed the rumble strip between the second and third yellow lines was installed, except on the Eel River and Clifford Road bridges, though stantions are on both bridges. At first some of the stantions were either run over or pulled off the asphalt and thrown to the side of the highway before MassHighway re-installed them in early June. I'm not sure if the entire project is worthy of mentioning in the article as more and more super-2's are being changed in a similar manner, especially U.S. Route 44 in Middleborough and Carver, and Route 2 in Athol and Phillipston. Move to Plimoth Patuxet Highway
[edit]Hi all, as of 2023, the highway has been renamed as the Plimoth Patuxet Highway by the state, since Plimoth Plantation was renamed Plimoth Patuxet in the last couple years or so. I don't know how to make the formal petition but I believe the page should be renamed but that the old name should be allowed to redirect into the new name. If anyone can help with this and/or teach me how in a comment, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!! EPBeatles (talk) 19:03, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not disputing this, but do you have a source that we can use in the article? –Fredddie™ 20:08, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- @EPBeatles, Fredddie: An Act Designating a Certain Portion of State Highway in the Town of Plymouth as Plimoth Patuxet Highway, approved January 2, 2023. I'm not seeing any news articles online, so that's probably the best source for now. Imzadi 1979 → 21:00, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- That was the one. I should have put the link in my comment. EPBeatles (talk) 04:00, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
