COI

[edit]

Note that "Kmhook" confirms on IRC they are an employee of the subject of the article. Pinkbeast (talk) 17:06, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is why I reached out for help with editing. Thank you to "pinkbeast" for helping resolve the dispute. (Kmhook talk) 17:11, 8 March 2013 (UTC))[reply]

Hallo there Pinkbeast (talk) and (Kmhook (talk),
please let's try our best to stay calm an civil. May I suggest you to consider visiting Wikipedia:Third opinion in order to formally deal with your dispute? Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help you. Please remember that today is the International Women's Day and some ladies could be reading this talk page or even be one of you two or even both. Have a nice week-end.   M aurice   Carbonaro  19:40, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that was a complete non-sequitur. What on earth have our genders got to do with _anything_? Pinkbeast (talk) 19:42, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I looked through the history, and I really don't see where anyone's been rude. Anyway, rather than fight with anyone, I would rather suggest that Pinkbeast is correct. Anyone who is close to the subject of the article is simply too close to write, or even to edit, the article. My suggestion would be for you to get a friend of yours, who isn't connected to the subject in any manner, to actually and objectively make the edits you suggest. A good friend can be brutally honest if you ask them to be. Also, leave the {{Help me}} template up, and other editors will come to help with suggestions and possibly edits. Welcome to Wikipedia, Kmhook! I placed a Welcome template on your talk page that has some links you might find useful. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 20:20, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, except I feel it'd be better for you if you wait for someone completely uninvolved (i.e. not asked by you or anyone) to write it, which will happen if the person is notable. gwickwiretalkediting 21:02, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and more help can be found in this section of the COI guideline. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 21:28, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Pinkbeast (talk) please try to remember that we are ALL volunteers here and I honestly didn't like your tone in your previous comment. BTW you answered just two minutes after I posted the comment while I was trying to correct it and I got involved in a editing conflict. Asking for help shouldn't imply welcoming volunteers willing to help with personal attacks. BTW this is my very last time I am responding to your cries for help. And next time you will indulge in this kind of behaviour I will seriously consider asking wp:ANI wikipedians to consider blocking you. Have a nice day.   M aurice   Carbonaro —Preceding undated comment added 07:24, 9 March 2013
Maurice Carbonaro, please do not alter talk page progressions in this manner. Your alteration made it appear that I had responded to you rather than to Pinkbeast. As for your comments about Pinkbeast's "tone", I read the history and saw nothing rude about the tone. Our disagreement aside, you might want to read WP:AGF if you haven't already. Thank you for your attention and for your caring attitude. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 01:30, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't ask for help; if you read the page history you'd know who put that there. And if you don't want me to raise an eyebrow at non-sequiturs about editors' genders, don't make them. Pinkbeast (talk) 13:02, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The responses have been transferred to where they should be to make this discussion coherent. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 14:36, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is last edit performed by Kmhook (talk) on the 8th of March @ 18:31. If COI persists maybe it's the case to ask for help on the Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard. Please follow instructions. Thanks.
  M aurice   Carbonaro  18:54, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This not really an appropriate use of the {{Help me}} template (which is designed for attracting a response to specific questions about editing Wikipedia) so I've cancelled the help request. If you want editor input on the actions of an editor with a conflict of interest, please list your disagreement at the conflict of interest noticeboard, as suggested above. Yunshui  13:14, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But the editor who put "Help me" on the page is not the one pointing out the COI. Pinkbeast (talk) 13:34, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The helpme template was placed by the editor who may have a conflict of interest, which as yet remains unestablished. That editor, an employee of the article's subject, wanted to know what to do. It is up to the editor who claims that there is a COI to go to the noticeboard. It is not up to the editor who is asking for help. I have reinstated the helpme template. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 13:44, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like the template was actually originally added by an anonymous IP user - was that Pinkbeast, or Kmhook, or someone else? Does whoever it was have a specific question which hasn't been answered yet? If the question was "there is a COI here, what do I do?", are they content with the suggestion to take the discussion to Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard? --McGeddon (talk) 13:50, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Paine, {{Help me}} is not RFC. Having a pointless and inappropriate helpme template on this page merely serves to waste the time of editors monitoring Category:Wikipedians looking for help: since no question has been asked requiring help, there is no need of the template. If you want editors to comment on the topic, raise the issue at WP:COIN or start an RFC. You've been around the block a few times on Wikipedia, you should know better than this. I've deactivated the template again; please don't restore it unless you actually have a question - in which case, I'll be happy to assist. Yunshui  14:02, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Above, just after Pinkbeast comments Note that "Kmhook" confirms on IRC they are an employee of the subject of the article, Kmhook confirms, This is why I reached out for help with editing. Does this not make it clear to you who placed the template and why? – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 23:22, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the "inappropriate" from the template and replaced it with "helped". It was appropriately used in the beginning when I first got here, and it is hoped that the editor who placed it has been given enough help to be able to continue improving this article. Before this discussion degenerates any further due to others coming in and making additional hasty judgements about it, I'm outta here. – PAINE ELLSWORTH CLIMAX! 00:59, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

I have edited content and added references to the page, Please let me know in case if it's still a case of NPV? Please let me know your thoughts on it.

Kavdiamanju (talk) 13:03, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Are you connected to the subject of the article? Are you, by any chance, connected to the similarly named User:Kavdiaravish who also seems very interested in painting Mr Arvai in a good light? Any relation to User:Kmhook? Pinkbeast (talk) 13:23, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, There is no connection with the subject of the article or any other user. I was looking at founder of prezi on google and came across this page on google. I just saw warning message on top, so thought to contribute to the page. Did i made some errors or anything against wiki guidelines? Kavdiamanju (talk) 16:24, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the COI template as an accusation without merit. Just being close to the subject is not against policy. Just being employed by the subject does not make one a COI editor. There appears to be discloser and the accusations appear to be without merit.--Amadscientist (talk) 07:27, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I can still see for "The neutrality of this article is disputed" tag on this page. It would be great if any editor can remove content which affects the neutrality of this page. Kavdiamanju (talk) 11:09, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to help you with. Help-me templates are for requesting help with things they can't do themselves, or don't know how to. If you do need help, you can always reactivate the template. :)—cyberpower ChatOffline 14:57, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
