Once a lady achieves the status of a "supermodel", this status is a permanent feature of her life. There is no such thing as a "former supermodel". If Paulina reaches the age of 80 and wants to model clothing for 80 year-olds, she will still be a supermodel, for she has earned that status once and for all.

Statistics

I'm not sure that "vital statistics" (degrading nonsense) belong in an encyclopaedia article, but I'm certain that they don't belong in the summary. For the record, I've just removed this: "Measurements: 35B-23 1/2-35 1/2 Height: 5' 10 1/2" 1.79m (from her elite 80's model card)". --Phronima 10:24, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Of course statistics belong in an encyclopedia article, especially things like height and weight! It's a natural piece of public information, and to disregard these is to flush ones brains down the toilet.

As an example, www.imdb.com lists the heights of all the actors and actresses. That is where I found out that Rock Hudson and John Wayne were 6'4" tall, but other noted actors were in the neighborhood of 5'7", e.g. Tom Cruise.

especially important for a model

Polish

Did she not come from a Polish background? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.10.3.127 (talk) 17:37, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Mother

I've removed this from the article:

Her mother is NOT Iva Parizkowa Ryggeståhl, a leading liberal politician in the city of Malmö, Sweden as noted here, but Anna Porizkova, a midwife in New York City.

First of all, there is no cause for using the word NOT in all capital letters, which makes me suspicious of the contributor's intention; secondly, "as noted here" doesn't make any sense, because only this sentence is noting anything about the mother's name, making it a self-reference, and finally, the mother is either one or the other of the two named, so let's figure it out. 70.20.232.141 06:12, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

supermodel? proof?

Is she a supermodel in Czech? Bc she isnt know like tyra banks nor Heidi Klum nor Cindy Crawford nor Naomi Campbell nor Evagelista nor Turlington, etc. Thx. 70.108.128.109 (talk) 21:18, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

One could argue that Porizkova gained "super model" status when given the position as judge on America's Next Top Model. There is no popularity standard required for "super model" status. On the contrary these figures, as well as this entire article, should have citations. 72.152.135.75 (talk) 22:48, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Czech-born Paulina Porizkova rose to supermodel status in the 1980s, appearing on the cover of the Sport's Illustrated swimsuit issue in 1984 and '85. She later posed for Playboy magazine. According to ABC News, she is a super model. 72.152.135.75 (talk) 22:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

The v.d.e template section

The v.d.e template section near the end is very confusing to the reader. If the reader clicks on v d or e he comes to discussions about this template. If the reader clicks on different parts of the title in the first line he comes to different places. Only if the reader happens to click on the two last words in the first title "cover models" he will come to a page where Paulina Porizkova is mentioned. If the reader clicks on the word "show" he returns to the page he is already reading.

If the reader clicks on any of the 3 following lines titles he comes to the same place, which does not mention Paulina Porizkova.

If he clicks on the last line title he will actually find a page where Paulina Porizkova is mentioned.

So, of all the 25 or more elements in this template only 2 elements lead to other places where Paulina Porizkova is mentioned. This leads me to seriously question why this template should be used at all, and especially why it should be used in this article. I suggest that it should be removed as it is only very confusing to the reader. Roger491127 (talk) 14:21, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
