Copyvio?

[edit]

I dont see the copyright violation here. All content on the wiki page (where it was presumably copied and pasted from) explicitly states at the bottom of the page "Content is available under CC-BY-SA." which is a free culture license. So where is the copyvio coming from? Davidbuddy9Talk 01:01, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bonetrousle source

[edit]

I have looked at that Variety source and I am having trouble identifying what, exactly, verifies this information. The article does not seem to mention music, Bonetrousle, the Joker song, or Papyrus. Can you identify what information is being cited? @SignedInteger: - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 19:16, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Interestingly enough…despite being cited in that same section it appears the article was misused because it does not even mention this at all. Sorry my mistake, but it must be removed from the ''Deltarune'' article as well. SignedInteger (talk) 19:18, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i meant deltarune i’m not used to typing in source editor. SignedInteger (talk) 19:18, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I found this Tweet by Toby Fox which does mention bonetrousle and heartache directly being from a previous project. I also found this article which is already used on the Deltarune article mentioning it as well. SignedInteger (talk) 19:31, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Feeding it into google translate, it's not about the songs being used in Deltarune, just mentioning they were for a RPG he planned in 2012 but couldn't.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:44, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The very Deltarune article mentions this original project though, and the final Deltarune Chapter 1 we got still shows some similarities to this original project such as several characters being based off of Kanotynes card designs, although that is quite a stretch without a reliable source, I do admit that, but its still clear there is a connection between the two. SignedInteger (talk) 19:46, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah Toby has a habit of recycling concepts, but unless we had something concrete saying "This was Deltarune" I wouldn't go with it.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:50, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not exactly concrete but Toby does credit them for the design of several characters. And looking at the card designs, there is definitely a connection between the two projects, but most of the plot and main characters originate from 2014-2015 (toby fox himself says this), so they are different but still likely connected. (still no reliable source that directly mentions this though).
Just wanted to note that. SignedInteger (talk) 19:54, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Toby does mention that the "original idea" he had became Deltarune though.
Again its not really THAT reliable to use his twitter as source but still… SignedInteger (talk) 19:58, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No that actually works then. The question now though is does it add anything to the reader's understanding to know that for the context of this article?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 20:02, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’d say "Maybe", it does give them information that indicates Papyrus’s theme was originally meant for Deltarune but its not relevant at all to the actual subject matter. SignedInteger (talk) 20:03, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
