Oxford2Cambridge.com is just a holding page - is linking to it useful when it doesn't have any content? Caliston 08:58, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

True. Feel free to delete in such cases. I did. --Concrete Cowboy 23:33, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RFC: change of name to current usage.[edit]

The term "Oxford-Cambridge Arc" appears to be so last century, dahling. The National Infrastructure Commission uses "Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Oxford corridor". Per WP:Common name, that is what we should be using. Unless anyone objects to this proposal in the next two weeks or so, I shall move this article to that name. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:31, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As no-one has objected, I shall do the move. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 21:25, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Oxford corridor → Oxford-Cambridge Arc – The Cambridge – Milton Keynes – Oxford corridor is the old name of this project. The name has been changed back to the 'Oxford-Cambridge Arc' and therefore the title of the page should reflect this. All instances of corridor in copy have been updated. Alexnenglish1995 (talk) 13:52, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Citations showing evidence of a name change are needed before this is even considered. "All instances of corridor in copy have been updated." What copy? of what? where? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 16:50, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please see the following resources as hard evidence that the name of the project has indeed been reverted to the Oxford-Cambridge Arc:
  • The Government's own policy paper declaring the project: The Oxford-Cambridge Arc: government ambition and joint declaration between government and local partners [2]
  • Another Government paper setting out the strategy of the project: Oxford-Cambridge Arc Local Industrial Strategies [3]

If you would like any further resources, there are plenty more where they came from!Alexnenglish1995 (talk) 10:47, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, accepted. I have updated the Request to Move so that it says that "Oxford-Cambridge Arc" is the intended target, I don't know of any serious alternatives.
I Support this move. (Just for the closing administrator).

  • Comment: shouldn't there be an endash instead of the hyphen in the proposed title? There is no place called Oxford-Cambridge. HandsomeFella (talk) 07:48, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, well spotted, but it should be an mdash. (Oxford—Cambridge). I have updated the RtM accordingly. The redirect with a hyphen will need changing too. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 16:41, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
