I have heard that the name means “Mister Flag” in Punjabi, is that true?

2007-03-05 Lena Synnerholm, Märsta, Sweden.

Yes, it is quite true. "Sahib" is the term of respect, like "esquire" to a french, or "san" to a Japanese. In fact it would more correctly be put as "the respected/venerable flag". Likewise the Granth Sahib means the venerable book. Anything else ? -- Jon Ascton  (talk) 16:06, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image of flag

[edit]

The waving image is okay, but there I've seen a flat mock-up elsewhere on Wikipedia. Surely it should be included. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Plasticbadge (talkcontribs) 15:51, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
