"The" prefix
[edit]@Psychologist Guy Should the article title be "The National Society for the Abolition of Cruel Sports"? It's the name used in their annual report here. Throughthemind (talk) 19:20, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- You are correct about that as that is used in their official literature but interestingly all of the references, even from historians and newspaper reports ignore "the" and just refer to it as National Society for the Abolition of Cruel Sports. I have redirected The National Society for the Abolition of Cruel Sports into this one. I have no objections if you want to change it round. Psychologist Guy (talk) 21:12, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
Secretaries
[edit]From my historical research I have found that the National Society for the Abolition of Cruel Sports had many different secretaries over the years. Just a few – Bertram Lloyd (1932), Margaret Newby (1937), E. G. Barlow (1947), M. Blundell (1955) Gabriel Barlow (1964), Albert Edward Wilson (1960), A.I.C. Haine (1962), Sydney L. Pepper (1969), John Docherty (1982), Thelma How (1985). Unfortunately none of these are likely to qualify for an article. Psychologist Guy (talk) 22:02, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
