Please change "has more followers than some celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Ellen Degeneres" to "has more than two million followers, and has been verified." The reason being that he does not have as many followers as Miley, Justin or Ellen. Miley Cyrus has 18m, Justin Bieber has 52m, and Ellen has 29m, while Nash has 2m like stated before. This is false information and should be changed. 74.76.184.22 (talk) 01:37, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: I checked the cited source. Then I went to the source they cited, Rankzoo. Grier is at the top of the list with 8.3 million followers on Vine. Miley, Justin, and Ellen have 1.3 million, 1.4 million, and 2.0 million, respectively. —C.Fred (talk) 02:00, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nash now has 11.5 million followers on vine, this needs to be updated — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hihihi549 (talkcontribs) 00:54, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth?

[edit]

The news story says he was 15 as of October 2013, but where are we getting his date of birth from? —C.Fred (talk) 18:34, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For that matter, what about his birth name or place of birth? If it's not cited, it can be removed from the article. —C.Fred (talk) 13:30, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For note, Famousbirthdays.com is not a reliable source (see this RSN discussion). EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 21:37, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please change his birthday. His birthday is December 28 1997. He stats it in his Triva Gone Wrong Video on his YouTube channel.Krr866 (talk) 09:54, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Krr866: Can you give a link to the specific episode and a time marker so we can find the clip? The last video link given, it wasn't mentioned in it (or at least not in the closed captioning). —C.Fred (talk) 15:43, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@C.Fred there are two videos both on the YouTube channel Nash Grier. The first one is called Triva Gone Wrong and one can find it at 2.59. Here he only stats his birthday and not the year. In the second video called Ask Nash he stats both the date and year at 2.39. Unfortunately I was not able to add the links as they are blocked on this site. -Krr866 (talk) 18:24, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The "Ask Nash" video does state the date outright.[1]C.Fred (talk) 18:54, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And I've added it, fully cited with {{Cite AV media}}. —C.Fred (talk) 19:05, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the controversy.

[edit]

Many of Grier's Vines have received marked online derision. The controversies he's evoked are widely known, particularly on sites like Tumblr, and centre around the offensive nature of his Vines, in particular certain homophobic comments he has made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.0.28.94 (talk) 07:12, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To add that, you will need to cite reliable sources that have covered the controversies. There's a lot of material in the article currently that should really be removed because it doesn't meet the WP:BLP requirements that it be sourced. It's easier to let a date of birth slide, though, that an accusation of homophobia. —C.Fred (talk) 13:16, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a line about the most recent thing, but made it more general. 3 citations added. Could add more. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 20:16, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I usually like to err on the side of caution with BLPs, so I reverted the paragraph giving thorough detail on it. I think a single line is enough in my honest opinion. Tutelary (talk) 17:01, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nash Grier (born December 28, 1997)[1] is an American teenager who became nationally known in 2013 for the short video-Vines, which are usually 6-seconds long, he posted online. As of April 2014 he is the most popular star on Vine.[2] According to New York magazine Grier "is a God-fearing Christian who frequently consults his iPhone’s Bible app while on the road."[2] Daily Dot estimates that between Twitter, Vine, and YouTube posts Grier speaks to more than 14 million fans as of July 2014.[3] Huffington Post noted in August 2014 that Nash has 9 million followers on Vine, 6.2 million on Instagram, 3.3 million on YouTube and 3 million on Twitter, giving him "higher social media ratings than the White House."[4] Nash's team "confirmed that major brands will pay the star between $25,000 to $100,000 to plug their products" in vines.[4]

He use to attend the Davidson Day School in North Carolina.[5] Now he is currently living in Los Angles, California along with Cameron Dallas, Carter Reynolds and Photographer Bryant. Nash and Cameron will be filming the Outfield, an Awesomeness TV/ Nickelodeon produced movie. Griersgirl (talk) 17:59, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good observation. I see User:Fastily deleted all but three. No idea why not the remaining three, but those are still speedy tagged, and the selfie is included in those.

Is "news appearance" considered part of a Filmography list?

[edit]

I noticed that Grier was a guest on ABC and FOX news and under Filmography lists that. In my opinion, a Filmography list applies to those who have been in TV and/or Film, not a special News event. So I am requesting that I remove that from the Filmography because it doesn't pertain to the meaning of Filmography.

Thank you, MonsieurNapoléon (talk) 17:30, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request: Under Career - Please replace old content w/this

[edit]

In 2013 Nash started posting vines which included his brothers, Hayes Grier (Benjamin Hayes), Will Grier and his little half-sister Skylnn Floyd. A well-known celebrity re-vined a vine that Nash and his brother Hayes filmed which contributed to Nash becoming more noticed and well known.

Nash later joined a group called Magcon, which stands for Meet And Greet Convention along with other Internet sensations Cameron Dallas, Aaron Carpenter, Carter Reynolds, Hayes Grier, Taylor Caniff, Mahogany Lox, Matthew Espinosa, Shawn Mendes, Jack Johnson, Jack Gilinsky, Jacob Whitesides and then later in the tour Sammy Wilk, Brent Rivera, JC Caylen and Sam Pottorff were added but eventually all the boys left to pursue their careers. In early 2014 Nash got nominated for Best WebStar in the Teen Choice Awards. Nash was later signed to Awesomeness TV along with his fellow Viner and best friend Cameron Dallas.

Nash has gained over 7.3 Million followers on Twitter, 4.7 Million subscribers on Youtube and 10 Million on Instagram adding to a total of 22 million followers. But Nash was the most followed person on vine with a massive 11.4 million followers. In total Nash has 33.4 million followers across the entire world. He has become known as the King Of Vine since his social media career began in 2013. Nash has also been named one of the most influential people in the world.

After moving to Los Angeles, he found himself educating even major brands on the benefits of digital/internet marketing versus traditional TV commercials or print ads. Nash was soon bombarded with endorsements and began doing content deals with companies including Tommy Hilfiger, Old Spice, Neutrogena, Mudd, Nordstrom, Virgin Mobile, MTV, M&Ms, Aquafina and many more. At the end of October 2014 Nash Grier, Carter Reynolds, Cameron Dallas and Hayes Grier released a clothing line called United XXVI with Aeropostale. Nash has been a guest on Good Morning America and The View multiple times and has been named one of TIME Magazine's 30 Most Influential People on the internet in 2014 & 2015. He was also named one of TIME Magazine's most influential teens. So far, Nash has been nominated for "Favorite Social Media Star" at the 2016/2017 People's Choice Awards, "Choice Web Star: Male" at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards and "Choice Web Star: Comedy" at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards.

In 2015, Nash starred in his first film “The Outfield”, which jumped to #1 on the iTunes Drama chart in 15 countries only two days after its release, beating out the highly anticipated Jurassic World. In spring of 2016, he wrapped filming on the thriller film “You Get Me” starring opposite Bella Thorne. In fall of 2016, the provocative series “The Deleted” in which he stars, was released. Nash is drawn to the innovative storytelling of video and film, as evidenced by the fact that he writes, directs, and edits every video he makes on social media. Nash has proven his production skills on a larger scale as well, directing a music video for the artist Bera, which had more than 3 million views on Nash’s YouTube channel. In both 2017 and 2018, Nash walked in the Dolce & Gabbana Fashion show in Milan in the #DGMillenials campaign. He created his “Nash Grier” app, which skyrocketed to 6.3 million views within its first week and took over 78% of total traffic across all apps, eclipsing the Star Wars app, on the day of the launch. He also has his own emojis for Apple and Android, dubbed “NashMojiTM.”

Nash uses his voice for good, bringing attention to causes he is passionate about, including climate change and global warming and encourages his generation to be environmentally responsible.

Nash is signed to and managed by Melinda Morris and team at Legacy Talent and Entertainment, LLC.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexislegacytalent (talkcontribs)
