October 31st launch date?

[edit]

I have searched the web for months for anything that would amount to a U.S. launch date for NHL Network. Someone continues to write that it will launch in October, and now with a more detailed date of Tuesday, October 31st.

It also said that it will temporarily be a simulcast of the Canadian version, which I highly doubt for 2 reasons. First, American advertising is different from that in Canada. Second, rights to games are for particular territories. Live game rights would either have to be expanded to cover the U.S. or be blacked out.

Where do you get this information? If it is actually true, and its supposed to be kept a secret, then it should not be posted here. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a newspaper. If this launch date has been officially announced, and if you can cite a credible newspaper or website, then it should be added to the article. Not until there is solid proof. Person who is getting this info, WORKS for the company that puts out The NHL Network US version. I would believe that information would be better from him then from a newspaper.

s

p.s. Regarding blackout restrictions etc... look at how NBA TV does their broadcasts. Same idea.

If your source indeeds works for the company, please include his or her name in any statement confirming the network's launch. If you can't provide that, then it is not a credible source. Milchama 17:30, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HUH?

[edit]

most sports networks are fighting cable companies to stay off of a sports tier... if NHLN is open to being put on a sports tier most cable companies would launch. The NFL Network had this fight and lost and The Big Ten Network is currently trying to get launched as a non sports tier channel. Seanm9 03:40, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to DirecTV's website the image for the NHL Network is the same for both the American and Canadian versions. Just look at the HD channels they offer and you should see the image [2] ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 19:16, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NHL Network Website

[edit]

Do you think we should list the Canadian website as the official one for the US as well. Reason asking is they have the US Broadcasting Schedule for the games on NHL Net US. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 00:03, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NHLNetwork.com shows both the US and Canadian tv schedules. If you come from a Canadian IP Address you automatically see the Canadian version, if you come from a US ip address you automatically see the American schedule. You can change versions of the site by clicking on the flags at the bottom of the site. direct link to the canadian version: http://www.nhlnetwork.com/en_CA 96.56.25.29 (talk) 20:49, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Headquarters

[edit]

The headquarters has been recently edited from New York, New York / Secaucus, New Jersey, United States to just Secaucus, New Jersey. This is unreferenced. When reverted, a problem editor used the excuse that the original wasn't referenced either. According to Wikipedias rules when reverted you must discuss on talk, not keep reverting back to your new addition like a child. Either this new edit needs to be referenced, or the long standing remains until then, as per Wikipedias standards. 64.231.151.232 (talk) 04:31, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, no it is not. It is repeatedly cited in the body that NHLN moved to MLB Netwotk facilities. (see WP:LEADCITE). It is in fact the claim that shows are still in NY that needs to be cited. ViperSnake151  Talk  04:47, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Have you even read the references? You can read right? Again, please read WP:BRD. You lack the basic understandings of wikipedia and it's editing/civility rules. 64.231.151.232 (talk) 05:34, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
