– Proposing moving the above pages from their current full names to their mononym as per WP:COMMONNAME. The subjects of the above articles are most commonly known mononomously as their given name and have never used their full name in any professional capacity. Additionally, it is unnecessary to disambiguate these articles by using their family names because there are no other mononymous singers with Wikipedia articles that share those same given names. Has there been any discussion as to what information should and shouldn't be included in Template:NCT (group) re: subunit discographies?
At present, it looks like NCT 127 has had their discography information removed at some point, presumably because they have their own navbox at Template:NCT 127. NCT Dream has also had most of their discography information removed, but they still have a single album listed for some reason; they also have their own navbox at Template:NCT Dream. NCT Wish has its full discography listed (well, except to Steady (EP) which was released today), though they also have their own navbox at Template:NCT Wish.
WayV and DoJaeJung do have their full discographies listed. WayV could just as easily have a navbox template made for it (I probably will create one when I get around to it later today) which could(?) mean that their discography should be removed from this navbox... An argument could be made for DoJaeJung to have one too given they have 6 or 7 articles it could be used in. That'd just leave the NCT studio albums and NCT U singles.
Just looking for clarity as to why we've done what we've done and where we should go from here so we can clean it up and make it more consistent.
I'm happy with the sound of your plan! I think WayV are overdue for a template and DJJ seem to have enough for one too, or potentially could even be moved to the NCT127 template? But overall I'd say the NCT template would work best as a hub for NCT U and other complete group items. orangesclub🍊03:58, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support split. The end results should just be NCT, NCT U, and DJJ. I don't see DJJ having a standalone navbox at this point of time without ending up at TfD. —Paper9oll(🔔 • 📝)04:38, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead and created Template:WayV - feel free to adjust as everybody sees fit.
Per this discussion I've removed WayV, Wish, and the little bit of Dream that was left over from Template:NCT (group), so all that is left is U and DoeJaeJung. Now that it's done I think it looks kinda funny to have basically just DoJaeJung left plus the whole group/rotational unit - what do y'all think?
