Can we not get a more recent picture of him than when he was in high school? He was the first round pick, come on, guys!

If you can find a picture that complies with Wikipedia's image use policy, feel free to upload it. Usable images can be surprisingly difficult to come by. Lizard (talk) 04:14, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

The internet is capable of some pretty incredible things. I'd have been surprised if Reddit couldn't help. Lizard (talk) 16:18, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

I want to add his stats from the Bears and Packers game from yesterday 50.230.216.80 (talk) 15:44, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

Can an authorized user please update Trubisky’s team history.

He has signed with the Buffalo Bills, therefore his team history box should show Buffalo Bills (2021 - present), am I right? Taco098541 (talk) 19:35, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

Add to Career highlights and awards section: "Nickelodeon Valuable Player (2021)"TMx2000 (talk) 05:12, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

[1] TMx2000 (talk) 05:12, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit extended-protected}} template. This looks like a single-game internet poll stunt, not a real award. – Jonesey95 (talk) 07:04, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
Single-game awards are almost never notable enough to include in the body, let alone in the infobox or career highlights section, especially an online vote that can easily be gamed. Now, there's a decent amount of coverage yukking over how a sports podcast got its listeners to stuff the ballot for Trubisky. That can be supported by reliable sources, but to me, it smacks of WP:RECENT and my guess is that it will be forgotten about in a week. It might be worth including in 2020–21 NFL playoffs, but not this article. Ytoyoda (talk) 15:26, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
Jonesey95 (talk · contribs), Pro Football Reference has added Trubisky's NVP. That's a good sign of the award's notability. Ylee (talk) 18:24, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
@Ylee: Sometimes people make jokes online. I think this is one of those times. Ytoyoda (talk) 18:40, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
But we shouldn't be arbiters of what is a joke or not. We cover Mr. Irrelevant, for example. The test is notability, and the NVP award has received plenty of press coverage. Ylee (talk) 18:57, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
@Ylee: we shouldn't be arbiters of what is a joke or not is precisely why it's probably premature to act like NPV is an actual thing that will end up on Trubisky's eventual Hall of Fame plaque. And Mr. Irrelevant, which has become an NFL tradition since being introduced 44 years ago, is an example of something that is not recentism. I have yet to see a WP:RS treating the award as anything more than a successful trolling or a quirk of the first Nickelodeon NFL simulcast. Ytoyoda (talk) 19:21, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello. I am requesting a edit for this page for many reasons. One is that I am actually a friend of his. I also would like to add some facts people may not know. I also did not see where you guys have put his achievement of the NVP award from last night. Thanks. MitchTrubiskeyIsDaBest (talk) 15:59, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Not done - see previous discussions regarding assessment of notability and merit of inclusion. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  21:51, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
To be fair that consensus made little sense and had people debating if we should interpret a reliable stat website as "making a joke." I still think the fact that Pro Football Reference put it on their website is a solid indicator that it should be a thing listed here. At least it should be under the "Records and achievements" section how some players have Thanksgiving game MVP awards mentioned. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 05:32, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

Jersey number

Per this tweet from the Buffalo Bills, Sanders will now wear #1 (per the new jersey rules) and Trubisky will wear #10. --My Pants Metal (talk) 14:37, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

Thanksgiving day game MVP

This needs to be added to his awards, Trubisky was was given a WWE championship belt to commemorate his MVP performance during the Bears thanksgiving day victory in 2019. 2600:6C64:667F:E7D1:83A:BD77:173E:D209 (talk) 18:52, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

This isn't even mentioned in the prose. Larry Hockett (Talk) 19:10, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
I don't think the belt was awarded directly to Mitch. It was awarded to the Bears as a team by Braun Strowman. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  15:45, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

NVP award in Saints game

I've removed the following sentence from the 2020 season section:

Nickelodeon, which simulcasted the game along with its sister network CBS, gave Trubisky the "NVP", or Nickelodeon's Valuable Player award, based on online fan voting,[1] although this was considered by most[weasel words] to be the result of online trolls.[2]

As I said in the edit summary, the sourcing is fine, but I think it's undue coverage, especially when it seems like recentism. I just think it's too much weight given to a successful online prank, and it's at best, a minor footnote about that's more relevant to NFL on CBS than this article. Ytoyoda (talk) 18:23, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

I agree, unless the NVP becomes more than a meme award I'm not sure it needs to be included. XGhost4000x (talk) 01:30, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

I feel like it is certainly relevant because especially with his departure to the bills and the end of his time as a starter it has become symbolic of his poor play throughout his career and I believe it will be something he’s remembered for years into the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.79.195.205 (talk) 07:39, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

If it is a meme award its ok but it needs more recognition to be worth to be included in an encyclopedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.105.44.164 (talk) 18:12, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

I believe the NVP award should be included. Even though it could of been a meme , it should still be included in his history in some manner. Alombar3330 (talk) 00:13, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

I think it’s something he earned. Eg224 (talk) 20:29, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

Trubisky was awarded the NVP in an unregulated online poll comprised entirely of fan voting. A single game highlight should be omitted from the Infobox unless it was a Super Bowl or League record (See WP:NFLINFOBOXNOT). I would agree with Ytoyoda that it's a bit too trivial to mention here given it was essentially a joke orchestrated by fans. The incident is mentioned and detailed on NFL on Nickelodeon. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  21:19, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

I believe it should DEFINITELY be included, especially considering that Mitchell Trubisky's player page Pro Football Reference has a tag that says 2021 NVP on it, although I believe it was a joke. However, I think it should be included under the 2020 season subheader, not under Career highlights and awards in the NFL player infobox template. JumperZ69666420 (talk) 01:10, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

I really think that it’s entirely incorrect and unfair in terms of what has been done in regards to the NVP award. As many users have mentioned the award is included in his pase on pro football reference and is clearly notable as that is a reliable source for all sorts of NFL information. In the general public there is a clear consensus that the NVP award is a relevant part of Trubisky’s career yet there is a clear refusal by those gate keeping here at Wikipedia to add it too his Wikipedia page, which I think hurts the legitimacy and integrity of Wikipedia as a whole. Just because the NVP is not an award that goes to the absolute greatest player does not mean it isn’t significant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.79.195.205 (talk) 07:36, 3 December 2021 (UTC)

”agrees to a deal” is different from “signed a contract and has a roster spot.” It’s like being engaged to marry doesn’t mean you’re married. You have to get married to be married. Adeletron 3030 (talkedits) 00:49, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Trubisky on the Steelers

I think it’s time to change that Trubisky is competing with Mason Rudolph for the starting QB job when Rudolph will likely be a third string regardless if Trubisky or Kenny Pickett choose to start SteelLakerNation (talk) 15:39, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

Done Removing the sentence about where he will likely be on the depth chart as it isn't reliable. It's the opinion of a Steelers beat writer, not a statement from the team or coaching staff. Qwaiiplayer (talk) 15:52, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
