Translation Complete

[edit]

Finished translation from Spanish Wikipedia Feb. 4 2015. Since Mi Teleférico is an ongoing project, this page will need to be updated periodically. This page has a map, but it needs a good public transit-style system map to be adapted from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3amRafJJQ6HY2NrQjg2YlJYUTA/view. Names in English

[edit]

El 10:12 15 mar 2015 (UTC), el usuario Chuq escribió en la discusión de la wikipedia en español (es:Mi_Teleférico) lo siguiente:

Hola! Sorry for the post in English - I'm working on the English Wikipedia version of this article (en:Mi_Teleférico) and wanted to know if either the name "Mi Teleférico" or the station names have an official English language translation? Or are the Spanish versions used?

Ener6 (talk) 18:42, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Station list

[edit]

Now that many of the stations are on multiple lines, and this number is only going to increase, is it more practical to stop separating the station locations by line? I was going to add more columns to each but many stations are duplicated.

Or is it still beneficial to group them so that they are in a logical, physical order? (Counter-point: The "lines" section already does this) e.g.

Before:

Yellow Line (Línea Amarilla)

[edit]
Aymara name Spanish name Connections City Notes
Chuqui Apu Libertador Green and Sky Blue Lines La Paz
Suphu Kachi Sopocachi La Paz
Quta Uma Buenos Aires La Paz
Qhana Pata Mirador Silver Line El Alto

Green Line (Línea Verde)

[edit]
Aymara name Spanish name Connections City Notes
Irpawi Irpavi Gold Line (2020) La Paz
Aynacha Obrajes Obrajes La Paz a free funicular provides access from Calle 17 to the station
Pata Obrajes Alto Obrajes La Paz
Chuqui Apu Libertador Yellow and Sky Blue Lines La Paz

After:

@Chuq: I think this is a great idea, and the table looks nice and neat. We do lose information about what order the stations appear in on any given line, which is unfortunate, but on the other hand a map can display that information more succinctly. Aymara names

[edit]

What are the relations between the Aymara and the Spanish names? Irpawi/Irpavi seems like an adaptation of the same word. Las Villas / Villa Copacabana / Villa San Antonio: the "Aymara" name is actually Spanish. Is it that Aymara speakers name the area in Spanish? Arce / Avenida Poeta and Prado / Camacho seem Spanish in both versions, but they are different. Why? There is a Villarroel / Héroes de la Revolución but in Inalmama / Villarroel "Villarroel" becomes a Spanish instead of Aymara name. --Error (talk) 22:53, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Broken map

[edit]

Where is Mi_Teleférico#Network_Map getting its data from? It's only showing a single purple line. --Lord Belbury (talk) 16:25, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
