MWD edits
[edit]Disclosure: I used to work for MWD before it folded. MWD and other small digital production companies were once covered extensively in VFX magazines and publications, especially when big-production VFX films came out. With the folding of many of these (print) publications, it's very difficult to find reference sources for these Wikipedia articles. In-depth coverage of visual-effects innovations and particular shots, is not happening in abundance any more. The result is less journalism dedicated to digital effects, such as matte painting, although new innovations are happening every year that have a bearing on the art and commerce of filmmaking.
These smaller VFX studios should not be bypassed on Wikipedia. The current lack of articles that once featured photos, interviews, and VFX technical information, doesn't negate the presence of these companies and their contributions to modern film production. If employees or former employees edit these pages, it's not for promotional purposes. It's become a reference source that is lacking in the world of print and online publications. --Utilizer (talk) 05:47, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
