Nessie

[edit]

How about his fascination with Nessie and the fact that futur bald Marshall ends up catching Nessie as seen in the newspaper headline in "We're not from here"'s future scene—Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.133.139.5 (talk) 13:40, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Law School

[edit]

Does anybody know how long he studied the law school and how old he was when he finished? For how many years does a person in U. S. study a law school?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.151.83.161 (talk) 16:44, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Law School in the United States usually lasts for three years. Since Marshall was a second-year student in Season 1 and took the Bar Exam (after law school) in Season 3, he would probably have finished law school at the end of Season 2, making him 28 or 29 when he graduated. alma mater

[edit]

There appears to be an edit war going on as to whether he went to "Wesleyan University" or "Ohio Wesleyan University." Yes, these really are two different universities, and Ohio Wesleyan is correct - the name of the school is clearly visible on a diploma in his office in "Not a Father's Day." I can provide a screenshot if necessary. To the person who keeps editing the article to say Wesleyan instead of Ohio Wesleyan, what is your reason for doing so?? Although I've never edited this page one way or the other, the show's creators both went to Wesleyan (the one in Connecticut), so it seems reasonable to assume that the characters would have as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.162.233.40 (talk) 07:33, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "Ohio Wesleyan" diploma is clearly in that episode "Not a Father's Day". Then again, since this show is only loosely based off of the creators' experiences, it could go either way [i.e. the diploma was either a fluke OR the alma mater difference was intentional to avoid 'direct comparison' between characters and creators] RTaptap (talk) 07:32, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-they DID go to Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. The last episode: "The Possimpible", near the end you see Ted editing his resume and work history. It says he was a radio DJ for WESU-FM, which is Wesleyan University's student run radio station. Ohio Wesleyan's student radio's call sign is WSLN. Their college is almost always referred to as "Wesleyan", never "Ohio Wesleyan" or anything of that sort. The diploma might be an inside joke from the show's creators (all Wesleyan alums as am I) because Wes is always confused with other schools (usually Wellesley or Ohio Wesleyan). pacifistic street fighter

[edit]

Season 4 ep 10 reveals that he is an extremly good fighter. He beats an experienced fighter (who was able to beat three guys alone before) without a scratch. He hates fighting though. 83.216.242.110 (talk) 02:39, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Picture isn't of Marshall Eriksen

[edit]

Forgive me if I'm not familiar with standard practice, but is there a reason the image is of the actor at a promotional event, especially since he has a look there Marshall never had during the show? Wouldn't it make more sense to use a promotional still or a screenshot of Marshall rather than a random picture of the actor? Larkmarn (talk) 15:39, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
