[edit]Note that Buddhist mantras never use auṃ (the nasalised diphthong) and always oṃ. This means that using the Devanāgarī ॐ is incorrect (and the symbol is strongly associated with Hinduism in any case). The correct form (in Unicode) is ओं.
Note also that maṇipadma is one word. This has been established in a number of scholarly publications recently in particular Alexander Studholm's study of the mantra oṃ maṇipadme hūṃ. mahaabaala (talk) 14:37, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
