Ownership

[edit]

I wouldn't really describe New Atlantis Ventures LLC as a shell corporation - defined in WP as "a vehicle for business transactions without itself having any significant assets or operations". On the contrary, it owns Sam Simon, a not inconsiderable asset. special purpose company might be better if it cannot be confirmed as a subsidiary. I've left it for now, though, to see what description might be preferred. Davidships (talk) 15:15, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This source, which is used in the articles, says that New Atlantis Ventures LLC is "wholly owned and controlled by Sea Shepherd". --AussieLegend () 15:38, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. That's clearer then. As it owns the asset and is wholly-owned by SS, I think that makes it a subsidiary. Davidships (talk) 11:23, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
New Atlantis Ventures is a shell company used by the SSCS to purchase the ship. While it WAS 'owned' by New Atlantis Ventures after the initial purchase it has been fully transferred to the SSCS. Though I doubt that New Atlantis Ventures actually exists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.60.246.230 (talk) 20:17, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If NAV was indeed just a transitory vehicle for purchase that is perhaps the right designation, but transfer to SSCS needs a reliable source for citation.Davidships (talk) 02:54, 24 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of cited content

[edit]

An IP has been removing cited content from the infobox,[1][2][3] despite several warnings on its talk page. In the last warning, I told the IP that he needed to prove the information being removed was incorrect and directed him to this talk page,[4] to no avail. The IP has not chosen to discuss the matter, or provide proof in any way that the content being removed was incorrect, only claiming "my bosses told me to".[5] Despite having reverted three times on this article today, I'm claiming a 3RR exemption as these edits now seem to be vandalism, and I have reverted them accordingly. I have also posted another warning on the IP's talk page. --AussieLegend () 20:36, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Registry?

[edit]

The ship now says Rotterdam on the stern and has a Dutch flag. Should that be changed in the infobox? Bioniclepluslotr (talk) 02:32, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
