Bandowey lighthouse
[edit]The text has:
On a clear day, you can see the sea and a red flashing light (Bandowey lighthouse) SOURCE: Safari research 2011 (Funded by WAG)
Google shows no references to this lighthouse (other than in text derived from here), and if it were in the Bristol Channel surely Google would find it. Also, what is Safari research and WAG?
Unless a reliable reference is forthcoming we should delete this. I would retain the claim that you can see the sea, as this seems credible. If so, we should estimate the distance to the sea. This depends on the direction, but the closest sea is at Ogmore-by-sea. www.distancefromto.net gives this distance as 16.29 miles.
I propose:
On a clear day, you can see the sea, over 16 miles (26 km) distant.
It would be good to cite a reference. Verbcatcher (talk) 03:01, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
- On reflection, I suspect SOURCE: Safari research 2011 (Funded by WAG) means a personal trip funded by wives and girlfriends. If so, it counts as original research, and should not be here. I will delete it - it can easily be restored if an acceptable reference is found. Verbcatcher (talk) 14:27, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

- Probably - thanks. But I stand my deletion of an uncheckable claim to be able to see a misnamed lighthouse. Verbcatcher (talk) 22:59, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
- Not only is it non-verifiable, but probably pointless. FruitMonkey (talk) 23:12, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

A Few Selected Exits by Gwyn Thomas
[edit]Has anyone checked the reference to A Few Selected Exits? Google can only find one mention of Llanwonno or Llanwynno in this book, but it does not provide the text. If this paragraph deserves its place then we should cite the book properly. Verbcatcher (talk) 12:08, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- I see that "The Fountain Inn", as he calls it, gets more attention from page 211 onwards. Martinevans123 (talk) 12:24, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
