NC Supreme Court Police

[edit]

The "North Carolina Supreme Court Police" is listed in this article under "State Agencies."Does anyone have any information indicating this agency exists? North Carolina's Department of Public Safety, on their Facebook page states that "NC Supreme Court Chief Justice Cheri Beasley recently thanked State Capitol Police Officer Mullins for his agency's outstanding service this year. SCP Officers are responsible for the security of the State Supreme Court along with the rest of the legislative, executive and judicial branches of state government throughout Downtown Raleigh."

The only reference of a "Supreme Court Police" I was able to find was on a seemingly random PDF of the City Council Agenda of Rocky Mount, NC. link.

However, I could easily see someone calling the detachment of Capitol Police officers assigned to the NCSC as the "Supreme Court Police."

I just don't believe this is an independent agency.

Anyone have any proof that says otherwise? Otherwise, I'll be removing this alleged agency from the list (unless someone beats me to it). MWFwiki (talk) 05:23, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
