Title

[edit]

I created this at List of aesthetic principles of music, but I'm going to move it to list of culturally-linked qualities of music, to make it more specifically focused to the original intent. I'm still not really happy with the title, but it's the best I could come up with. Tuf-Kat 17:23, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Under either title, I'm afraid it just looks like a random collection of more or less music-related notions. --Christofurio 00:01, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

-I enjoyed reading the list, this article has the potential to be truly great, although the grouping of music-related notions is one that would seem almost impossible to come to consensus on. Even after researching and sorting "qualities" in their cultural context, on a timeline, and with audio/visual examples- one would still come to the realization that the same music has different qualities for each individual. However- as a treatise on *culturally linked* qualities, and the perception of society(s) at large I'm really excited about this article in the long term. "List of aesthetic principles of music" doesn't seem right. The title feels a little more defensible than that. This feels like somebody's hobby project. Where are the references that say that these are accepted "esthetic principles"? All this is so far is just a list of styles/genres with references to the fact that, yes, they really are styles/genres. But "esthetic principles"? Hardly. 2601:600:A480:4C20:D19A:A820:3ED6:7989 (talk) 02:01, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
