I thought this page is not for presidents. Theres a bunch of former presidents in the list. Guanaco152003 19:27, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notable Guatemalans,

[edit]

We need to have a agreement to what it is a notable Guatemala. If we start adding persons that have a website or a tittle doesn't they are notable in the Guatemala community on in the world. Any pointers? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alfiboy (talkcontribs) 02:34, 6 March 2007 (UTC). alfiboy 02:34, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Title of Page

[edit]

I'm not sure I understand why this page is simply titled "List of Guatemalans." It's weird phrasing that makes it sound like it is a complete list of all Guatemalans. Should the title not say something along the lines of "List of Notable Guatemalans"? I'm a relatively new editor so I didn't want to just change it, but I think this is valid. I believe this is because of a WP naming guideline (see Naming conventions) which stipulates that: "Words like notable, famous, noted, prominent, etc. should not be included in the title of a list article." -- Arjuno (talk 16:05, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Glad I didn't change it! Thank you for letting me know. BadEdition (talk) 15:41, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

He is correct. To clarify, what is a notable Guatemalan? Any person, alive or not that can be reliably shown of Guatemalan nationality or recent ancestry and has an article in English Wikipedia, meaning the subject is notable, can be added to the list. This goes for all lists of people. -- Alexf(talk) 17:50, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
