I removed Fahrenheit 451. It's not a French language film: it's an English language film, made in England by a French filmmaker.

wow, how necessary is this, really? Jdotpitts 03:03, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Poltergay

I just translated the page Poltergay from the French Wikipedia. Could someone check to see if it meets en.wiki formatting standards? Thanks, samwaltz 19:34, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm confused what the purpose of this page is. How is it different from the info on List of French films? panda 06:18, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, I guess the short answer is that this page has films where the language is French, and the other page has films that are made in France, or with French money, or however they define the nationality of a film. People from many countries speak French, so a film could be considered French-language, but not French. Also the reverse can be true. The Girl (film) for example is a French (and American) film which uses English as the spoken language. There is a discussion about a similar issue with regards to categories. If it's really bothering you, I would start a discussion on the Film project talk page. --BelovedFreak 15:47, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
How much French should be in a film before it should be included in this list? Or is there no minimum limit? L'Auberge espagnole, for example, is something like 1/3 French, 1/3 Spanish, and 1/3 other (English, etc). Also Joyeux Noël is approximately 1/3 French, 1/3 German, and 1/3 English. I ask because if no minimum limit is set, then a movie that only contains a minor character that speaks French could potentially be included in this list. panda 19:09, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm not really sure the answer to this, but I would have thought that having 1/3 of the film in a language is definitely enough to put it on a list/in a category. If it's just a few words though, I can't really see the point. --BelovedFreak 13:30, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Point of this article?

It's horribly incomplete (and never likely to become complete enough to be useful) and much more difficult to maintain than Category:French-language films, which has approximately 1000 more entries than this list. We wouldn't have a List of English language films, would we? Wickethewok (talk) 05:25, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

I completely agree: this article is pointless and reductive. Seriously? Is French cinema so exotic that we ought to make a list of French movies? It's like saying "hey, look, those Frenchies over there, they have ideas too, how cute!" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.3.183.30 (talk) 09:16, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
