Doryphora as a synonym?[edit]

there are hints that Doryphora (beetle) may be a synonym of Leptinotarsa.--Estopedist1 (talk) 18:56, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is no evidence for such a synonymy as far as I'm aware; several recent publications e.g. Chaboo et al. (2014) indicate it to be a valid genus with species in Central and South America. I suspect this assumption comes from North American species such as Leptinotarsa decemlineata being former members of Doryphora, but one species being transferred to another genus doesn't mean all of them are.
