Shoot[edit]

"Legit" is not exactly the same as "shoot". A "shoot" occurs when the script is not followed and the crowd and TV audience, if there is one, see actual, unscripted occurances. While this may be "legit", there are "legit" occurances outside of the context of a "shoot", and terms such as "legit heat" and "legit talent" would make no sense if expressed as "shoot heat" or "shoot talent", and this is why the two articles should remain separate. It is also misleading to state that the reason that many pro wrestling fans find "real" or "legit" matches to be dull because someone seeks actually to win them and not embarass himself. They are dull (when they are) because there are no gimmicks, no spots, and no face vs. heel heat. It takes a whole lot of legit skill by both contestants for "real" wrestling not to be deadly dull to anyone but purists. It takes less ability to keep a match interesting when one can introduce gimmicks such as foreign objects, outside interference, and the like. This is not to say that pro wrestlers lack legit talent – most have a considerable level of it. But for wrestling to draw large amounts of long-term interest at a high level, traditionally kayfabe has always had to be part of it. Rlquall 14:40, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Legit?[edit]

Does a background in bodybuilding, running, swimming, gymnastics, shot put, javelin, volleyball, basketball or baseball really qualify a wrestler to be classed as 'legit'? Alexrushfear (talk) 15:06, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
