Lave WinhamLafayette WinhamWP:COMMONNAME. Newspapers.com shows three total results for "Lave Winham" and two are from a 2003 article. "Lafayette Winham" returns 65 results. I would make the move myself but Baseball-Reference and most other modern sources say "Lave." Dennis C. • Oppose. He's primarily known for baseball and all the official sources list him as Lave including BR and MLB.com. Spanneraol (talk) 03:34, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those are only two sources and they don't appear to have any basis in the historical record. I showed you 65 Newspaper articles using "Lafayette" vs. 1 using "Lave." Lafayette is the common name. Dennis C. Abrams (talk) 20:22, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe back then, but not today. Spanneraol (talk) 14:37, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. As noted in the nomination statement, "Baseball-Reference and most other modern sources say "Lave."". Therefore, whatever he was known as at the time he played, it is the modern usage that we should stick with per WP:NAMECHANGES etc.  — Amakuru (talk) 14:10, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
